Words

How many words can your LO’s say? My LO can say around 10 words but I see other toddlers her age saying more. She does babble a lot and she understands words.

I might just be overthinking this, I know all toddlers are different.

Thanks

Still absolutely nothing here 😊 not even mama or dada. SiL is a speech therapist and has no worries about my son, so try not to stress too much x

We still have lots of babbling but every day more and more words start coming out. They’re not the clearest, and only really understandable by me 😂 but just letting her do her thing

My little one only says a few words mummy, dada, grandad, Ziggy (dogs name) and drink. He babbles alot too so I'm not worried 😊

My son can say quite a few but some only family understand. He also says some then won't repeat for a while. He's behind with his walking though so think he's making up for that with words. All babies get there when they are ready, I wouldn't worry

Thank you all, feel a lot better 😊 x

My son says a lot less than the other babies at the same age or even younger… they are all different and they are not even 2 yet. I feel like everything is rushing and they have to reach milestones otherwise this and that…. The HV, the development checks, the social media is trying to say what they should achieve by certain age.
I think babies who’s watching tv picks up a lot more words I can spin in my head with the show cards or repeat everything 80 times he still will pick up things from situations when I’d never think he pays attention. That’s how he said shoe first out of nowhere. I think tv is cool but our tv is technically always off. Not because I am such a perfect mum who doesn’t want any screen time, but I don’t watch tv either because simply don’t like it and he got used to this and even I’d like to drink a coffee and put my feet up and turn on the tv he walks off. But everyone is trying to say what is right or wrong when it is actually everyone’s own business.

What I’m trying to say is I think don’t worry about anything because sometimes I caught myself looking for signs of things instead of just enjoying the time together what will never come back.

Our LO says more than I can count however it happened all of a sudden. He counts to three and knows all the colours too. I was shocked to be honest. He says things I don't even realise he knew. Don't worry about it though. They all get there at their own pace. You don't see any teenagers who can't talk lol xxx

Mum and dad (in baby language 😂) but he constantly shouts at me so not to fussed xx

My girl says about 25 words, can count to 10 and vaguely knows the alphabet. Her little lmnop is so funny 🤣. I put it down to Miss Rachel if I'm totally honest!

My son has been referred for ecat sessions, he’s 19months, he’s only just said mama but has glue ear which is known for slowing down talking, I think at this age people start to panic but they are still so young xx

Thanks all xx

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
