Different colored breast milk

I know breast milk can change colors depending on baby but I’ve never noticed this drastic of color difference in my milk before especially in the same pump session. It’s been like this for a few days now where one boobs milk is kinda blueish and a lot thinner and the other side is more yellow and fatty. I breastfeed baby and then pump twice a day once in the morning and once at night to freeze and have noticed these past few days my left boobs milk is very different than normal. Any advice?

Oh yes I have the same problem! Supposibly one is fore milk and one is more fatty milk completely normal. I have the same problem and so I try to pump extra on the light side because it’s not so fatty so we need to take out the fore milk

Yes exactly as said! One is just more watery which is for hydration and full of vitamins & minerals and the more white is full of all the fats they need

Left is foremilk right is fatty milk 🤍 baby needs both! Foremilk is nice and watery and filled with great electrolytes and right is full of good nutrients for growing if you pump for longer on left side you should get the fatty milk after 🤍 letdowns happen roughly every 13 mins and you can help your boobs by massaging and warming to get more out as well

Mine is a lot more like the left. My baby will be 5 months on the 12 and weighs 17lbs I think that’s a good amount but I’m worried he’s not getting like the fat. He doesn’t really like my left boob so it doesn’t produce that much. Does the fat come out of one boob only ? And is that left boob for me ? Is he missing out on the fat? Or does it come out the right with like the hydration since my left doesn’t produce that much?

basically as baby feeds longer on your boob they will get to the fatty milk. They have to first get through the foremilk (hydration part) and then the hind milk will come out. If baby is feeding ok and seeming satisfied after feeds and gaining weight you are honestly fine though. If you’re pumping you’ll never be able to be as efficient as baby is it’s normal to not pump out a lot because baby is just better at getting the milk! If baby was getting too much hydration and not enough of the fatty milk they wouldn’t be gaining weight and certainly would not be 17 lbs at 5 months (I’m right there with you! My baby is about that much too lmfao)

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyone’s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. I’m trying to introduce more floor time but it’s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs😅 but no real signs of crawling yet.

Night time routine

Heya, my 3 week old daughter is currently exclusively breastfed and I’m not pumping. Can anyone recommend the best way to share the load with my partner? At the moment I’m doing all the feeds/burbs/settling and my partner is sleeping through which obviously isn’t sustainable, I’m trying to work out the best way to get him involved. Any advice very much appreciated!
