Guys, I need help!! My baby absolutely hates the car. Like he will scream every time we drive and sometimes for the entire car ride (unless I am in the backseat with him). I try and time everything out to where he has obviously ate, it’s about to be nap time, etc. I have also got a toy that has lights and sounds and a high contrast toy on his car seat. Those seem to distract him for a little bit but not long enough! Lol. I’ve played white noise. I am getting ready to potentially try a different car seat, since we will eventually have to get a different one as I only have a Graco infant seat. But has anyone had this experience or any advice to help?? Before having him I was always on the go and out doing things but with him hating the car it’s really limited everything to where I even dread going to our lactation appointments because it’s a 40 min drive!

My daughter also hates car rides and I hate hearing her scream but she will usually end up falling asleep

My 12 week old hated car rides and would scream the whole time as well. We tried a bunch of stuff and through trial and error it's slowly been getting better. Here's what we do:
1. A full belly and burp
2. "The Taylor Swift Method" playlist by heysleepybaby on Spotify (I don't consider myself a Swifty but it works in the car and at home.)
3. The Lulla-vibe by Munchkin. It's a vibrating paddle that babe finds really soothing. I put it on his lap when we start the drive. I would buy this thing 10x over. It was key.
4. "The Baby Shusher" on loud
5. A favorite pacifier.
6. No sun in the eyes.
7. If all else fails I crack the windows open for some extra "white noise".

Omg i thought i was the only 1 going through this! It’s makes going out with baby so miserable! 🤦🏽♀️
thank you soooo much! This is so helpful! I will definitely be buying some things!
it’s absolutely terrible. I feel horrible for him and it’s definitely prevented me from going to weddings etc that are too far away. 😅

I hope it helps!

We have a mirror in the back seat so we can see my LO face while we drive. I sit in the back with her for now just to be on the safe side but I notice she loves to look in the mirror at herself. Maybe that will entertain your LO? There’s also a vaccum cleaner sound video on YouTube that is like white noise magic!

I have a camera, which I really like using but maybe having a mirror also would help so he can see himself. I will definitely need to try it for when I can’t be back there with him. If my husband is driving I’m always back there but there are quite a few times we have to drive by ourselves because my husband works a lot and we have quite a few appointments we have to go to!
Thank you for the suggestions!! I will definitely try them out.
