CIO Method

Posting incognito as I don’t want to be judged….

Has anyone successfully gone through with CIO method?

I’m at the end of my tether here, I haven’t had a full nights sleep in a year and I’ve literally tried everything to improve my daughters nighttime sleep.

How long do you leave them to cry for? I tried leaving her tonight and gave up after 20 mins as she was just stood up in her cot hysterical 😫 I really think she would have cried all night if I just left her.

It’s so frustrating as she falls back to sleep within 60 seconds of being sat in the chair with me in her nursery but if I try to put her in her cot she immediately starts screaming. I do not like co sleeping but for the last two weeks I’ve ended up bringing her into bed with us from about 1am after trying to get her to sleep in her cot for hours on end.

Have I left it too late for CIO to work? Me being in the room makes her worse if I won’t pick her up, if my partner goes in she just screams until I go in and then as soon as I hold her she instantly stops crying.

I’m exhausted 😫

I've done this method with both mine ans it does work it don't matter what age, only difference I do is if they are standing I go in lay them down and leave no talking no eye contact and usually after 30mins they have passed out

It's a method that if your gunna do it you need to follow through otherwise they know they have won and get used to it and makes it so much harder later down the road I think

Have you tried Ferber?
Where you go in at intervals, don’t pick up, but just reassure for 2 minutes before leaving again.
It can take a little while before a baby stops crying, 20 minutes believe it or not isnt that long. But, if you follow it it should only take a week max to see results

I would try things like controlled crying and ferber before resorting to CIO. Research suggests that they don't feel any less separation anxiety they just stop crying cause they know you won't come

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Bedtime

What time are you getting your LOs down for the night now and how are you finding bedtime? We’ve had the sane routine since my daughter was a few weeks old - bath with her older sister and 6.45, followed by a bottle and ideally in bed by 7.30. This worked at first but over the last few weeks she’s been fighting it a lot and, with the exception of a few days last week which were a lot easier, it’s a bit of a battle to get her down and features a lot of screaming and resettling. Not sure if we are putting her down too early or late? Her last nap is usually a cat nap (30-45 mins) and finishes by 6. She’s pretty good at settling herself from a night feed, but seems to be unable to do it at bedtime, even with her dummy.
