Following as I feel like we had a good routine for a few weeks that's now a bit wrong for him so interested in other peoples!

This is us! Everyone tells me routine is key and not to change it but how can we not change it when they are constantly changing their sleeping and feeding habits 🧐🧐🧐

Avatar

@Ashleigh 😫 couldn't agree more! I can't even tell you how much research I've done over sleep and routines and I swear every 'expert' says something different, none of which ever seem to work for us and he has never been a follow his lead kind of baby

Wake up any time between 8 and 8.30am
7oz bottle
Breakfast 9.30/10
1st nap about 10.30/11 for an hour (sometimes as late as 11.45 if we go out)
Lunch 1230/1pm
7oz bottle at 2.30 but generally only drinks 4 or 5oz of it
2nd nap between 3 and half 3 for around an hour
Dinner at 5
3rd bottle at 8.30
Falls asleep in between 9 and 9.30pm

Everything is give or take by half hour or so tbh like last night he didn't fall asleep til almost 10pm 😅🫠 but this is just what I try and stick too. We also don't do baths every single night but when we do that usually happens around 7.30/7.45pm

Wake up at 6.30(ish!) & Breastfeed
Breakfast 7.30-8
First nap 9/9.30 - 10/10.30
Lunch 12.30
Breastfeed 14.00
Second nap 14.00/14.30 - 15.00/15.30
Tea 17.00-17.30
Bedtime 18.45/19.00

Well that was the routine until I went back to work on Monday and it’s been a bit all over the place since then but waking up and bedtime stayed the same 😵‍💫😄

I find this so difficult because for us it depends he goes to my mum one day a week and nursery 2 days so sleep & bottles/food is all over the place and if we go out of a weekend he will sleep in the car no matter what time.

The only thing that stays the same is we always try and get him down for bed for 7:30 but again he has been full of cold/cough and been so hot at night he has been so unsettled.

That or I’m pretty rubbish at this whole thing 🤣🤣

Wake 6-630, boob in bed

Downstairs for 7, breakfast followed by a dog walk (either local in the pram or car & carrier)

Down for a nap for 9 and can sleep 1-1.5 hours

Lunch 1130 (can take 45 mins with BLW lol)

Often head out for this wake window as it’s rough. Dog walk when the weathers ok!

Boob, then down for a nap at 230 (really depends on weather for the length on this one. If the weather ok, I’ll put him in his cot. If it’s too warm then it’s a pram nap in the lounge or walking minus dogs)

He’s picked up a little boob feed when he wakes from this nap

Snack 430

Supper 530 when daddy’s home from work (again can take 45 mins with BLW)

Bath 630

Tiny play in the spare room/landing as I have a quick shower, book and then we go up to our room and down for bed 7 ish

Generally speaking (when I’m not at work)..

Awake - 6 (sometimes earlier but I don’t get him out of bed until 6)
6:30 - breakfast
7-9 play, usually a bit of miss Rachel while I clear up
9 - bottle and nap 1-1.5 hours
10:30-12 usually go out for a walk to the swings and the grab a (much needed) coffee from my coffee shop down the road 😂 or meet friends of visit people, food shop etc.
12/12:30 - lunch
1-2 playtime
2 - bottle and nap 1-1.5 hours
3:30-5 playtime
5 - dinner
6 - local walk with my husband when he’s finished work so we can chat and my little boy can not run around like a lunatic before bed
6:40 - bath (not every day)
6:50 PJs and story
7:00 - bottle and bed

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
