Hi ladies I have a 2 year old girl and baby no.2 is due in January. Our girl has co slept with us since she was a few months old. We have toyed with the idea of moving LG to her own room but don't think she is ready yet and we don't want to do any sort of sleep training. So we have now put her toddler bed against the wall in our bedroom and then put our bed against it so it's sort of side carred like you would a cot. And are thinking to use next to me cot on the other side when baby arrives. It will be tight but we should be able to manage. Has anyone had a similar arrangement? And how was your toddler? Was their sleep disturbed? I think this is our biggest concern that she will be disturbed on a night. But we live in a small 2 bed flat so don't have many options really.

We have a 2.5 year old and 4 month old. We just switched things up recently and put a full mattress next to our king mattress (All on the floor). I cosleep with the baby on the full mattress, and my husband and toddler sleep on the king mattress. My toddler eventually crawls to me but I manage to keep her behind me. We have used a bassinet before this and they barely woke each other up with their noise. Baby usually falls asleep before toddler easily (toddler makes a bit of noise before bed of course lol), and middle of the night wakings don't phase the toddler much. She used to pop her head up and check what's going on and go back to sleep.

I hope it goes smoothly! If they're both pretty mobile I would suggest dismantling or putting the bed frames away for now.

we have the exact same set up, two full mattresses in our one bedroom. Currently doing a mix of bassinet/cosleeping with the littlest one but I’m glad to hear someone else with the same set up. Everyone thinks we’re a little strange, but it’s working for us so far.
Our 2 year old is only occasionally woken by the newborn but for the most part sleeps through any wake ups/feeding, however I do take the baby out of the room for nappy changes/feeds quite often.

Haven't been on Peanut in a while but just wanted to give an update that we have all adjusted so well to sleeping on the double bed on the floor! Finally feels like a new normal and we are all comfortable and happy with the routine. We haven't had any issues for ages!
, my parents used to beg me for months to put my first baby in her crib "for my own sanity". Eventually people forget or move on. Do what works best for you and your family 💕
