Baby rolling over onto belly in sleep

My little boy is in a seriously bad habit over the last couple of weeks of rolling onto his belly in his sleep. I know SIDs is still such a risk but wondering if anyone had any advice? Everytime I turn him back over onto his back, but I’m starting to feel so guilty as it wakes him right back up and I’m just breaking his sleeping pattern😭 he’s even doing it through the night when I’m asleep. Woke up last night and looked over to check on him and he was flat out asleep on his belly with his head to the side. Obviously the priority is too keep him safe and I will continue to turn him back over..just a single mam drained and anxious struggling to sleep out of fear he keeps doing it whilst I’m asleep. The only time he doesn’t is if he co sleeps with me which I don’t really want to be doing with him! Any advice or anything is sooooo appreciated💚

As long as he is the one rolling (and not you putting him on his side or tummy), it’s absolutely fine to leave him. My LO rolls onto her tummy every night.

As it’s the baby turning themselves, it means they have enough neck strength to turn their heads to the side to breathe.

Just make sure they have nothing in the crib like blankets or loose sheets, and no crib bumpers.

aaaah thank you! This makes me feel sooooo much better! His neck strength is absolutely amazing! I can never keep him on his back anymore he’s always flipping himself over onto his belly🤣 I’ve been feeling so sorry for him because he absolutely shouts and balls when I move him back because he’s clearly comfy and just returns to that position. Thank you!!

you’re welcome! Can he roll onto his back yet?

I found that before my LO figured out how to roll tummy to baby she would wake up crying after being stuck on her tummy 😂

no not yet! He’s mastered getting onto his belly for ages now. I watch him through the monitor and if he gets stuck and wants moved onto his back he does start to cry and snuffle on. But he’s been doing it when I’m asleep and before I came back from literally getting a drink looked at the monitor and he was flat out asleep on his tummy again. His heads always to the side and when he rolls and wakes up or isn’t comfy like I said he cries and kicks his legs about in his cot so that wakes me up as he’s still in the same room with me

aaaah did she! He isn’t rolling back yet but I think part of it is because he just prefers being on his tummy all the time!🤣 I literally spend the day rolling him on his back and him flipping back over🤣🤦‍♀️hahaha thats funny!! When I found him on his tummy he was at the top end of his cot I was like how the hell are you all the way up there you little monkey!!
Hahaha look at her! Sneaking to the corner🤣

Please don't worry- when they are able to , babies generally love sleeping on their tummies. So if not upset and settled, just leave 🥰 x

My little one has also rolled onto her tummy in her sleep and I was worried the first time but I spoke to a health visitor who said if she can roll herself over then she has enough control to position her head to the side and just to make sure she has nothing in the cot with her :)

thank you!! I let him nap on his tummy today and he went from 20min cat naps weve been having for a while to a full hour and a half!! I feel so much better! X

thank you! I can’t stop him rolling over it’s his favourite trick! I’m going to start to leave him because he seems too sleep soooo much better! Hoping it’ll end the sleepless nights and broken sleeping as he used to be an amazing sleeper! X

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Bedtime

What time are you getting your LOs down for the night now and how are you finding bedtime? We’ve had the sane routine since my daughter was a few weeks old - bath with her older sister and 6.45, followed by a bottle and ideally in bed by 7.30. This worked at first but over the last few weeks she’s been fighting it a lot and, with the exception of a few days last week which were a lot easier, it’s a bit of a battle to get her down and features a lot of screaming and resettling. Not sure if we are putting her down too early or late? Her last nap is usually a cat nap (30-45 mins) and finishes by 6. She’s pretty good at settling herself from a night feed, but seems to be unable to do it at bedtime, even with her dummy.
