2.5 week old won't sleep

My 2.5 week old baby girl will fall asleep while breastfeeding but wakes immediately after feeding and will stay awake for hours afterwards.

She's clearly fighting sleep and shows signs that she's exhausted (yawning, barely keeping her eyes open...), but she'll stay awake for up to 4-5 hours no matter what we do.

I'm worried that she's in pain or there's something wrong that's keeping her awake but we can't figure out what. She's not hungry, we burp her for a minimum of 10 minutes after every feed. Her nappy is clean and she doesn't seem too hot or too cold.

We have tried rocking her to sleep but even this will take over an hour for her to fall asleep. We're first time parents so are not sure what is normal for newborns. Are we missing something? Is there anything else we can try to help her?

Something that helped us was using a t-shirt we wore for the day as her bassinet sheet. That way she had our smell. We also did a lot of contact naps or naps while carrying her in a wrap. Sometimes that feeling of warmth or being swaddled helps.

Is she upset and crying when she is in her awake period?

She's mostly just grizzly and restless. She kicks, squirms and flails a lot. She will only cry every now and then when we try to put her in her bassinet.

We either use wraps to swaddle her or use the Love To Dream style swaddles as she hates the arms down swaddles.

Sorry, I just realised I could reply directly to your comment. 😅

What I had to do with my son was keep him awake while breastfeeding- I found he was sleeping while feeding to, so I would open his sleeper and would keep him awake.
Once he was done sleeping I would swaddle him and rock him, or place him in his swing. He would instantly fall asleep when I kept him awake at feeding time!

When he was falling asleep feeding attached to me he was using me as a pacifier, so I introduced a pacifier so he would get used to falling asleep not attached.

Normal wake time is 60-90mins. Sounds like she’s just going past her awake time, getting overtired which is making it harder for her to go to sleep when you try.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
