Is it just me, or have any of your little ones started screaming crying when you put them in the cot for a nap or for bed? My LO keeps it up for over an hour and a half and it's making me so sad. Ilhe was okay before a week ago but not every time without fail. It's knackering, I was thinking it could be sleep regression or a leap or something? I hope it goes away soon as its horrible for my LO and myself hate hearing LO cry. Its a different cry to teething. I was also thinking maybe anxiety separation?
Thanks

We had this and we started to put him one earlier and it worked. Think he was cross and overtired before. The only scientific sleep regression is 4 months. The others are just linked to learning new things/changes.

@Sophie did you mean you put him to bed one hour earlier? I already put mine to bed at 6.30 not sure I could do that. That's reassuring about the sleep regression thing thank you.

Hey @Daisy I'm so sorry firstly that you're going through a difficult phase at the mo and your little one isn't settled like usual for naps and bedtime.
What's your usual routine for putting your little one down? I've found when my boy kicks off, it's more often than not that he's not tired enough to sleep and ill try get him to nestle into me and give him a cuddle and rock/sway. If after 5 mins he's not nestling and still really Unsettled, I'll turn the light on slightly and stay up with him for another 20 mins or so, reading books, light activities until he shows me he's tired.
It's really hard hearing them cry, you're doing a great job and remember everything is just a phase, things will improve and it won't be this hard forever 🩷🫶

It’s likely a developmental leap or sleep regression, they have loads x

Currently my little girl is fighting every nap even though she's showing signs of tiredness. She tries to climb into my lap, rubs her face & eyes and burrows her head in me and the cushions but I hold her to rock her and she kicks off.
I'm just letting her go again. She'll go down have a toddle about and come back, I snuggle her into me. Eventually she will get so frustrated, I stand up and bounce her for literally a minute and she's out like a light.
I'm hoping it's just a phase, I'm also using it as an opportunity for her to practice self-soothing.
