I’m going to try breast feeding but i’m not putting pressure on myself. No other reason than saves money and hassle with bottles etc. But would ideally look to express as well…. mainly because i’ve got tickets to taylor swift in June 😂

this is what I’ve always said I’ll try to do. It’s just hard to prepare with the unknown. How many bottles have you brought and will you buy formula just in case?

So I really wanted to exclusively breastfeed with my first but unfortunately it didn't work out that way, she was tongue-tied and my supply was low so I ended up combination feeding until around 6 months. For me, when breastfeeding goes well it is soooooo much easier than bottle feeding. No prep and washing up just put baby to the boob and away they go. I hated all the faff of washing/ sterilising/ cooling bottles. Having said that, you can have more 'control' with formula feeding, you know how much they are drinking and other people can do feeds so it's less pressure on mum.
I do believe there are so many health benefits to breast feeding so will be trying again but am hoping that once established I can combination feed again.

I absolutely hated breast feeding and the relief I felt when my baby self weaned from it and chose bottles instead was immense.
I found it painful at times, lonely, I was trapped on the sofa in the evenings and passing out because he was just cluster feeding, no one could help, it impacted everything I did - what I wore, what I ate, what I drank. I could go on.
Bottles were a dream. Takes 10 mins to wash them and 2 to make a bottle. At night it was a bit annoying but we took prep machine upstairs and it was fine. I have a big steriliser that does 9 bottles at a time. My local shop sells formula so 2 min walk to get some. You can buy ready made for when you’re out.

The mild inconvenience of bottles is nothing compared to how difficult breast feeding was for me. I feel there is a pressure to do it as it’s best for baby but what was best for my baby was a mother that enjoyed feeding him with good mental health.

I’ve just got a handful of bottles, got a few free mam mini ones and some others in larger size. Most of the time if you needed them they would be here next day. Not buying any formula other than maybe a pack of 6 ready made ones for the hospital as a just in case.

I’m going to try breast feeding but spoken to so many people about giving the occasional formula feed to give yourself a break, someone else can feed the baby

Someone else also said that formula before bed the baby sleeps better. I have no idea if that’s true but going to see how it goes

We have bought some of the premixed formula bottles just in case we have any challenges when we first get home and I’ve got some little mam bottles that you self sterilise. If baby prefers

A lot of friends have also said they breast fed for too long and now the babies won’t take bottles so we’ll be looking to introduce around 2/3 months - if breast feeding goes well I’ll express if not I’m not going to put too much pressure on myself

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
