FTM Baby Milestones

Do not feel bad at all ! Every baby is different. My baby will be 6 months on the 1st. She does not sit up alone . She hates Tummy time but can still hold head up. And definitely not crawling yet , they hit that milestone 7 months up.

So they say not to worry about milestones like sitting independently until 12 months and unable and 15 months for crawling.. some baby's take their time and there is no need to rush them. You can encourage them by just trying what you are most focused on a little more often and make it as fun or interesting as possible.

I’m glad you posted this, because I’m going through the same thing! Baby hates tummy time but we stick with it a few times a day — sits supported, and rolls onto his side but not fully over. When he’s on his tummy he spreads out and flails his arms and legs lol. He has very strong legs but doesn’t push up onto his arms very much unless we help him.
I keep telling myself that every baby is different and he will get there in his own time, but it’s hard not to compare and think I could be doing more to help him.

I’ve had to get creative with tummy time. I’ll sit on the couch with my feet on the coffee table (lol) and lay my baby against my legs facing the tv. He practices using his legs that way. Or I’ll lay him across my lap, and put my camera on my phone so he’s entertained that way. By doing this, he’s doing a lot better doing tummy time on the floor. I hope that helps a little?! But don’t be discouraged, everyone’s on their own timeline 😊

Not crawling at 5 months is 1000% normal! I've heard of early crawlers but your friends stating it happened at 5 months sounds like it has a high probability of being inaccurate. Being a FTM is so hard, try your very best to block out the noise - any concerns raise to your pediatrician; if they aren't concerned (which they probably aren't, based on the fact that everything you said seems VERY normal), then rest assured and get cherishing every moment with your daughter! The rolling will just totally click one day and then she'll never stop!
