Sleeping through the night

Has anyone else's little ones still not started sleeping through the night? Trying not to feel the pressure but have friends with younger babies and they all are however we are up 2-3 times still sometimes! X

I mean it depends what they consider sleeping through, really. Apparently, if they just wake for a feed but fall asleep straight away you can consider that sleeping through, unless they wake up and won't fall back asleep for a while or something then i would say that is them getting up. But definitely don't feel bad tho plenty of adults wake up through the night 😊 all babies are different.

Mine has slept through the night since around 1 year old. I have no idea how your managing 😭. They don’t waken for a feed or anything unless they are ill or teething.

Maybe you should try the crying out method. That’s what we did and worked wonders. It was hard at first but it only took 3 days. If they cry over x amount of minutes you go in and check on them and leave again after if they are ok.

We have a nighttime routine and they know after a book is read it’s time for bed and can have a toy in with them to help them sleep.

Ours sleeps through if she sleeps in our bed. I can't be bothered getting up multiple times so I just bring her in on her first wake and we are so used to her being in the middle of the bed that we actually get a good night sleep these days. The cry it out method doesn't teach them to sleep through, it just teaches them you won't go to them. Which doesn't sit well with me, but each to their own of course. Most my friends' kids sleep through and in their bed from earlier age but knowing it's because they haven't been responded to just reminds me we all have a choice and we are happy with ours.

Can i ask what is through the night? 10 or 12 hours? Recently we had 8:30 pm until 8/8:30 so 12 hours plus daytime nap 2/3…. We always had 12.5 -13 hours. So i assumed if he slept 10 night then extra 2 daytime. Now i am not sure on -10 hours is gull night? I assumed they cut daytime nap to 1 hour if its full 12. I got confused

My little one still isn’t sleeping through the night. He has a feed anywhere between 11pm-1am and again any between 4.30-6.45am but this regularly changes especially when he is under the weather.

Easier said than done but try not to compare your little one to anyone else’s as they’re all different and that’s okay.

I struggle with sleep and rarely sleep through and understand my little ones may not either, as much as I’d love them to sleep 7pm-7am or 8pm-8am!

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Bedtime

What time are you getting your LOs down for the night now and how are you finding bedtime? We’ve had the sane routine since my daughter was a few weeks old - bath with her older sister and 6.45, followed by a bottle and ideally in bed by 7.30. This worked at first but over the last few weeks she’s been fighting it a lot and, with the exception of a few days last week which were a lot easier, it’s a bit of a battle to get her down and features a lot of screaming and resettling. Not sure if we are putting her down too early or late? Her last nap is usually a cat nap (30-45 mins) and finishes by 6. She’s pretty good at settling herself from a night feed, but seems to be unable to do it at bedtime, even with her dummy.
