My baby sleeps around 4-5 block at night (very lucky I know!), should I be waking her to feed? By the time we get her down to sleep it’s sometimes 6 hours between feed.
Should I be setting an alarm to feed her?
Or will she wake when she’s hungry/thirsty?
She’s 4 weeks.

If she's past birth weight again let her sleep. She'll let you know when she's hungry

Rex is almost 6 weeks and he can sleep for long periods like that too. We only woke him if it was longer. It’s so hard as they say never wake a sleeping baby, but then you think oh gosh am I starving him?! 🙈 she will let you know if she’s hungry xx
Yeah she’s birth weight! She only lost 4% and got back up pretty quick

Formula? Bc if you are breastfeeding I'd still do an alarm for a pump but if not get that sleep girl

Hi I don’t have any info unfortunately as I’m still pregnant with my first child but I do have a question on the back of that, I’ve always thought/heard that you need to wake and feed every 3 hours until at least 8 weeks old in order to prevent sids? Is this incorrect info? As I see so many women on here saying about their babies sleeping longer than that

yes that's correct. You can choose to still wake your child but the recommendation is to wake 3-4 hours at night to feed until they're back at birth weight and 2-3 hours during the day. Then you can either let them sleep or keep to your routine. However formula babies tend to sleep longer stints to begin and breastfed babies tend to wake up more often to help build moms milk supply.

thanks Chrissy that’s v helpful! X
