So when my baby was born we went to his first check up appt at an office that checked his weight etc, and had a book of doctors at different kaisers in our area. My man picked the only mexican doctor there was (a women) and I liked the idea because we never had a mexican doctor before so we had good feelings about this! Well, all his first appts I went by myself with my mom and finally at his most recent appt (after 4 appts) my bd came. So shes only met her once. But at my sons last appointment I felt like she wasn't really being supportive. I told her how at birth my son would projectile vomit all formula so I brought in a form from wic for her to sign so I can get the hypoallergenic formula thru wic. She signed the paper but she signed it for similac regular instead bc she said projectile vomitting was not a sign of lactose intolerant and only blood in the stool is. So we went home that day and I decided that If we are gonna change his formula we might as well change it to a good healthy one instead of similac and enfamil (what I was using) so we started using bobbie. He's been good on it. Anyways Idk if Im over exaggerating or if I should think about changing his doctor maybe to a male doctor just bc of how I felt as a young mom (21) and speaking how I feel when it comes to my son. She also reccomended feeding oatmeal cereal mixed with formula or breastmilk and feed him with a spoon (my son is 4 months) but I havent done it yet bc I cant find any oatmeal cereals that have less ingredients, the only brands that make oatmeal cereal is gerber (no for me) and beachnut but I checked the ingredients and theres so many ingredients in it so I just wanna skip the whole oatmeal cereal thing till he eats solids at 6 months which Im scared to tell his doctor that I wanna do (even tho someone told me the whole oatmeal cereal at 4 months is outdated and baby are ready at solids right at 6 months) what are your thoughts? Please give me your opinion

You could just buy 100% regular oatmeal and puree it in a hand blender. I'd planned on waiting till 6 months to introduce solids but he was having a lot of reflux (breastfed, no formula though) and solids have seemed to help a lot. We havent done cereals, just banana, pear, avocado and eggs so far. You could absolutely always pick a new doctor if you aren't clicking with this one though. I'm with Kaiser too and the recommended starting solids at 4 months for me too so I'm thinking that may be a common Kaiser policy.

Just cook with formula or breast milk and blend.

I went thru a similar experience and never got the help I truly felt my son needed they said since the formulas they suggested didn’t work it wasn’t dairy intolerance because he wasn’t having stool in his formula. I started using an European brand goat milk and it saved my lil boy but some doctors are weird about changing formulas so personally I would find a new doctor because that’s your babies food and I ignored my instincts and things only got worse so just listen to your gut mama ♥️

Blood in his stool* he was having a rash all over his body as soon as he ate and would go away like 5-10 minutes after eating

My doctor didn’t even know what Kendamil was 🫠

Same lmaooo!! I use kabrita because the USA has started to mess with kabrita and I get kabrita shipped from Amazon next day so it’s easy enough lol! It’s labeled toddler formula but meets all the requirements for infant formula!

If you’re having doubts about the pediatrician it’s your gut telling you something isn’t right. Go to another doctor, second opinions are always good. I changed pediatrician 4times girl cause none of them seem to give me the answers I needed they kept saying everything was “normal” I’m a first time mom and my son is also 4 months so don’t feel obligated to stay with the same pediatrician. Just my opinion

I homemade rice cereal and oatmeal for my LO instead of buying sooo much cheaper. Foe the oatmealnu just make like normal, no sweetener or salt and the blend it. Add water as needed in blending for a thinner consistency. Then I start adding things to it for more flavor like fruit purees or spices. My LO loves the homemade oatmeal more then the rice. I also add flaxmeal for omega and fiber. Good luck!

we've been doing buffalo yogurt the last couple of days which is A2 also, seems to be going well.
