Red breast

Hi, wondering if anyone has had something similar or can advise? I am breastfeeding my 7 month old.
about two weeks ago, I noticed my right breast was red on one side. There is no pain, swelling or other constant symptoms.
I’ve had the odd burning sensation but it is normally after feeding and has happened whenever she isn’t latching properly.
i saw the doctor on day 5 who diagnosed mastitis and prescribed antibiotics.
there was maybe a small improvement.
I saw a different doctor after a week, who advised continue ABs for another week and try a fungal cream. We have a recheck booked Monday and she will refer me to a breast clinic if no better.
whilst I know it is the nose sensible option, I’m constantly anxious and stressing about what is going on.
looking up close, I can see loads of capillaries under the surface.

could this in any way be related to the breastfeeding/latch? Or some type of reaction to the breast pads? I’ve used the same ones since birth, but a new box recently and it does seem to be the same area/shape as the redness.

sorry for the long message, thanks 😊

I had mastitis three time! Icing after feeding helps tremendously!!

I would get that checked out asap

no, it’s not lumpy. The doctor also checked for lumps and said it was fine. Did yours go on for a few weeks?

I sometimes get a bit of pain after feeding- not all the time. She was biting around the time this started as she was teething but has now taking to pinching! Wondering if any of this could be related.
Did your clogged ducts last a while?

Avatar

For me it was just a clogged duct. Hot showers, massage and start feeding on that side for an entire day. Get it flowing. Make sure the latch is super even if you have to fight with it!
That’s what helped me. The doc in emerg told me to do this

Tbh it looks like the mastitis hasn’t cleared up. Has your little one been poorly in the last couple of weeks? This happened to me when my daughter was poorly and feeding more than usual and then wasn’t feeding as much, but I noticed immediately and was on antibiotics within 4 hours of noticing. I didn’t feel better until about 10 days after I took the first antibiotic. But it looked better after a few days. This in my opinion doesn’t look better and it seems the mastitis hasn’t cleared up at all. I do keep breastfeeding as much as you can. And use a warm cloth on it. Also if you can run the shower on it. But unfortunately only antibiotics are the only thing to clear it up. Mastitis can turn into an abscess if left for a few weeks.

Thanks all. I think I will see a feeding team this week to ensure latch is ok, and I will likely be referred by the doctors to a breast team if it’s no better/ just praying it’s nothing more serious.. 🤞
I have a bit more confidence though with your comments today, thank you

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(
