7 month old naps

Hi,

My 7 month old naps quote a lot in the day. Probably around 4 naps. I've heard about mums talking about the 3-2 nap transition at this stage and I don't really understand how they can only have 2 naps a day?

She currently contact naps on me because she won't transition to the crib during the day. She sleeps 12 hours at night but daytime is difficult, so we'll rock her off to sleep but she stays asleep on me during the day.

Is there something wrong with what I am doing? Should I just put her in the cot certain times of the day and let her try to fall asleep that way? How do I decrease naps?

Thanks x

I believe it as she does contact naps which is why she still has 4 naps a days your her Comfort. My LO also 7 months has now gone down to 2-3 naps a day but she does sleep in her own cot. I would advice try letting her sleep in the cot for one nap and see how she gets on from there. Just take it nap by nap. Your not doing anything wrong at all contact naps are the best sometimes their cuddles help us get through the day. But transitioning also helps with us mummies having our own time sometimes and get things done.

My nearly 8 month old naps in a cot and has only in the last week or so gone down to 3 naps as he could only stay awake for 2 hours and tended to only nap for 30-40 mins at a time

My 7 month LO also contact naps as well- has been for the last 4-5 months. At the moment, she's at 3 naps (1hr/1hr/30min) with 2-3 wake windows. Don't think she's ready to drop to two naps just yet, so you're doing nothing wrong because every baby is different. I'm yet to get her to nap in her cot during the day but I was advised to start practicing with her morning nap first (which might end up with her sleeping only 10 minutes) and then keep going at it and then gradually transition to the other naps. Also helps if your partner puts them down. Have yet to do this, though, but it might help you 😊

My daughter was like this. I just transitioned her into napping in her pack and play (what we use for a cot). She has extended her naps and reduced the number she's taken now. I didn't mind contact napping but it seems like she sleeps better in her pack and play it's just harder to get her down. Hopefully it continues to get easier because yesterday was fairly easy.

You’re not doing anything wrong, you’re going with what suits you and your baby 🥰. My baby has two naps but they are usually each for about 90 mins and in her cot. So she ‘sleeps’ 6pm - 7am (she wakes for milk then goes back to sleep again) and naps 9.30-11 then 1.30-3.
They’re all so different.

Try reading takingcarebabies on IG or website. It talks about wake windows and sleep cues. Try to transition to cot on the first nap. That one is easiest to transition. Let her get used to it for a few days, then slowly transition other naps. Slow progression. That's what I did with my LO when she got used to contact napping.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

4 month sleep regression

Does anyone else feel like they’re back in the newborn trenches through the 4 month sleep regression ?? 😭😭 my boy turned 4 months yesterday and the past 3 nights he’s woken up every 20-40 minutes. He does manage to get back off to sleep after I give him his dummy. It’s so strange though because his daytime naps don’t seem to be affected? He has 2 x long naps a day (around 2 hours) and a couple 30-40 minutes here and there and seems fine during them, it’s just his night time sleep! I read it can last for 6 weeks, I pray it doesn’t because I am shattered 🤣🤣

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡
