So, heating?

The question most will dread: who has the heating on already or if not, when are you putting it on?

It's still fairly mild here but our house temperature has dropped by almost 5° in 2 days!
So heating on yet, or are you holding out?

We put ours few times already

I put ours on twice yesterday, and had it in for 15 mins this morning.

Mines been on last few days, as my house is freezing in winter

Avatar

Mines been on a few days, hour in morning, hour in evening and 2 hours through the night, turning off radiators in house that we don't need, warming up babies bed with a hot bottle before he goes in x

Avatar

Mine has been on today for about half an hour as when my little boy woke up his room had dropped down to 18 over night and felt chilly in there, so while temps have dropped think we are going to set a timer for half an hour for around 3/4am x

mines been on at points through the night for a couple of days now, last night it got particularly cold x

My babies bedroom is sitting at 22. We asked for a long sleeved sleeping bag for her birthday and will layer accordingly to make sure she is warm enough. It is still quite warm in the house and we’ve not been getting any condensation on the windows so holding off for as long as possible xxx

Avatar

Yeh we have had to have it on for a couple of hours a day as the temp has dropped x

Yes it’s been several days… we’re on the ground floor of a Victorian house with no double glazing 😵 Winter will be tough

Avatar

Ours has been on a little bit but came on this morning as it definitely was feeling a lot chillier.

Not yet. We’re in a new build so it’s pretty good at keeping in the heat compared to our old house. I have put him in his 2.5tog sleeping bag with sleep suit and body suit and thinking tonight might put the arms on it as it is chilly but it’ll be too hot with heating.

Avatar

Ours goes on in the morning to take the chill off and then again beofre bed

I noticed our came on yesterday morning!

First time today! Held off as this weather is really confusing me. We went for a stroll today and it was so warm we wore short sleeves! And I was sweating a lot from carrying baby. The sun was warm.

And now tonight his room is freezing and we have the heating on for the first time! Xx

Had it on over the past couple of days - a couple of hours in the morning and a couple in the evening before bed, set to 18 degrees which does a good job of taking the edge off. Thankfully our house holds heat well once it’s warm and LO’s room is usually warmest in the house so I’m not too worried about him (he’s a naturally warm babe too). Have turned the electric blanket on in my bed when he wakes so it’s nice and toasty when I get back 👌🏼 highly recommend haha! X

Avatar

Thanks all! We held off yesterday but his room dropped to below 17° overnight and he woke up cold at 4:45am 🙃 so looks like we will be keeping it on low through the night.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡
