LABETALOL/BETA BLOCKERS

Anyone have experience taking Labetalol/Beta Blockers during pregnancy? What was your experience and outcome? How was your baby after birth?

Any knowledge/advice/anecdotes about beta blockers are welcome. Thanks for your timešŸ™

I am in my third trimester and have had high BP when in Dr office since the beginning of my pregnancy so they prescribed me BP pills even though my BP at home is an average of 113/70's. I worry about drug affects on baby, but I also think it could be good to help reduce my anxiety so I'm not having as many stress hormone surges throughout the day and sleep disturbances. I've tried my best to help myself naturally with therapy, nutrition, exercise, etc but still struggle with anxiety/stress. So yeah, it's hard weighing the pros and cons because I don't love drug intervention but also don't think it's good that I am releasing a lot of stress hormones during my pregnancy. It's very much a physiological stress response that I can't really help mentally. I can't just meditate all day and night long lol

I was on atenolol before I got pregnant for grave’s disease and then they switched me to labetolol during pregnancy as it’s safe whereas atenolol wasn’t. I had no issues. I have very low resting heart rate and blood pressure and the beta-blockers didn’t seem to make it go much lower which was nice. They do help a little with anxiety. No issues during pregnancy or after delivery and son is perfectly healthy.
I will say when you start them they can make you a little jittery/shaky and coffee makes it worse so try to limit your caffeine.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? šŸ˜…

Of these two, which seems more overall ā€œdemandingā€ to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down šŸ«¶šŸ¼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

4 month sleep regression

Does anyone else feel like they’re back in the newborn trenches through the 4 month sleep regression ?? 😭😭 my boy turned 4 months yesterday and the past 3 nights he’s woken up every 20-40 minutes. He does manage to get back off to sleep after I give him his dummy. It’s so strange though because his daytime naps don’t seem to be affected? He has 2 x long naps a day (around 2 hours) and a couple 30-40 minutes here and there and seems fine during them, it’s just his night time sleep! I read it can last for 6 weeks, I pray it doesn’t because I am shattered 🤣🤣

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤔
