Help with thoughts of not wanting to be a mom anymore…

I’ve been struggling over the past few weeks, of feeling like I’m not going to be a good mother, a wife and a home care taker in general. Please tell me what I can do to make these thoughts go away. It’s to the point of where I don’t want to be a mom anymore.

Where are you in your pregnancy and is this your first? I've been absolutely fine through my pregnancy until I've gotten to the 3rd trimester and now I'm feeling super anxious about everything...will it ruin our relationship, will I like being a mum, what will it do to my career, what if i'm no good at it.... Could be because you get an extra surge of hormones or it could just be because it's getting closer and let's face it, going from no kids to having a kid is a huge life change...I think any normal person would freak out a little bit. Have you tried sharing your thoughts and worries with your partner or family/friends?

it is my first yes. And I haven’t really told anyone because I’m ashamed of how I feel and I don’t think anyone would really understand.

I understand, and I'm sure lots of other people on here will as well. It's a wonderful exciting time, but its also scary and confusing, so it's really important that you seek out support and know that you're not alone. I'd recommend speaking to your midwife if you don't feel comfortable talking to family or friends about it, but I can almost guarantee you they will be more understanding than you think. You're a pregnant lady at the end of the day, hormone changes and brain changes can make you feel all kinds of ways, there's no 'normal' when it comes to hormones and your midwife will have heard it all. The most important thing is that you have the support you need. The very fact that you care so much about being a good mum etc to me says you will be awesome.

I have definitely had waves of times through my pregnancy where I have freaked out about this too. I feel like partly because how many negative things people say about having kids and raising kids. I had to tell people if it’s not positive I really don’t want to hear it right now. And watch how much negative social media you are consuming too. I know it’s going to be hard but that’s not what I need to hear I need to hear all the positives right now! How exciting and fun times will be too

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡
