Breast fed baby and dummy

I am exclusively breast feeding and I tried to introduce a dummy last night (he is 5 and a half weeks old). Baby wouldn’t take it and kept spitting it out. Does anyone have any tips please?

Perhaps change dummies? We tried our baby girl on the NUK dummies and she really didn’t like them so I thought I’d change brand and went with Philips Avent and she took to it straight away ☺️X

I use the MAM dummies and my baby seems to like them!

I’ve bought the nanobebe ones and apparently they are amazing my baby won’t take to any but if you look at them the tip is thinner and apparently better for breastfed babies xxx

I introduced a dummy from him being a few days old, and to this day, he’ll still only suck on it for a minute or so and then will put it straight back out 😅

Breastfed babies prefer a softer texture and smaller shape that is more like a nipple, nuk and mam are the worst for breastfed as they are the opposite 😅
My first took Tommy tippee breastlike, and my second currently 7 weeks will only take nanobebe x

my LO uses the tommee tippee closer to nature one and he is EBF so maybe try that? he spits out all others but took to that one pretty much straight away

I use mam ones, the first couple of times she gagged and spat out but I just kept trying and she now takes them x

We were told to introduce a dummy when my baby was in neonatal, they dipped the dummy in expressed milk to get him to start sucking on it, he absolutely loves his dummy now! Could be worth a try? X

My LO is ebf as well and we've found lightly tapping the dummy once it's in his mouth helps him take it better.. unless he's fussing or drifting off, he doesn't tend to use it for long though!

My little girl is 4 weeks and i struggle to get her to take a dummy. I find that she likes the BIBS dummies. I have ones with different teets. When she does take one, she seems to like the one with the rounder teet (think it is harder to fall out her mouth)!

My baby is 5 weeks old and using dummy I actually want him to get rid of that 😂

Mine was like this I then searched for ones with smaller teats and he took quite well x

I EBF and tried 2 different brands and no luck. Baby is 4 Weeks old.

My EBF baby has taken a tommee tippee ultralight dummy since he was a week old!

My LO every feed. Drs don’t seem to think it’s a problem the whole Muslim cloth gets soaked so much I’m using towels now. I’ve tried size O teats he gets really frustrated and still spills it out :(

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡
