How do I get my husband to stop?

So for starters, we’ve had a BILLION conversations & fights about this. He agrees to knock it off and then just does it again.

Our 5 month old will ONLY sleep in her swing with a bottle propped. No other way. Not how we like it but at a loss on trying different things at this point. We have a “rule” that we stay up and keep an eye on her until she’s done eating.

I keep waking up on his shift and finding that he has fallen asleep without taking the bottle out of her mouth or taking the blanket off of her. It’s happened like three or four times now that I’ve seen. Let alone how many times it’s happened that I haven’t seen.

Last night, the blanket was covering her face. She was totally fine but I’m losing it.

I guess he truly doesn’t believe it’s a suffocation hazard. Or he just thinks it won’t happen. Idk.

Any suggestions? I’m at a loss over here.

You do realise that sleeping in a swing is also a suffocation hazard? Literally blaming your husband for doing something dangerous but you are BOTH putting the baby at risk or SIDS.
I understand how hard it is with a baby especially when they can’t seem to settle (my 6 month old has spent most of tonight screaming the place down every time we lay her in her bed) we’ve been back and forth for hours settling her.
My suggestion would be to avoid sleeping in the swing altogether and teach your baby to sleep safely with you or in her own bed because god forbid you wake up one day and find her how many other parents find their kids from leaving them in these unsafe sleeping positions.

Show him the Lullaby Trust website. Tell him about the risk of SIDS. And if he continues? I'd leave. I wouldn't be able to trust my child around someone who is so careless with them.

I would consider hiring a sleep consultant at this point.

Baby is developing sleep routine, and if this the routine it will continue to get harder to transition baby to crib or cosleep, w.e yall are hoping for. I empathize!

You know that swings are super high risk for suffocation? And you know that propped up bottle is a suffocation risk on its own? Choking is quiet, even if you're up, you won't notice baby drowning in formula.
Please please change everything about her sleep, it's sound crazy unsafe

I don’t mean to be rude but your husband isn’t the only one leaving your baby at suffocation risk. Babies really shouldn’t be left to sleep in a swing, please do some research! You are both putting your baby at risk in this situation

You’ve seen that & unfortunately u can’t unsee the incident, don’t give him shifts again, don’t risk your child’s life & please change the sleeping routine. We’re also tired but we manage through & you can do it.

@Gabriella I have to agree.. bouncers and swings are a no no for sleep. There are actually warning labels that say just that affixed to each item, mainly so you can't sue them over the death of your baby but also to warn you of the potential danger. Baby is 5 months old , teach her to sleep another way. In addition it would not be acceptable after the first time I found him asleep.

We all deal with no sleep nights, it sucks. My little is almost 10 months and I am yet to get more than a 3 hrs stretch of sleep.

My suggestion is to first stop putting baby in the swing for convenience and feed her in your arms. Second, understand that men are not programmed like we are, if you don't like it speak up and do it now.

I don't mean to sound harsh but your the mom! If he won't do it right then you should.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡
