Good god today is hard!
Baby woke up from morning nap at 11.30am and has not gone back to sleep since! That's 7 hours he has been awake now and he's only 9 weeks old!
We've tried so many times to put him down for another nap and we've tried everything to settle him/get him to sleep... Nothing has worked!
I'm exhausted. Totally exhausted.

Same here! Ur not alone. Longest nap my baby has been having today is 20 min…. Let’s pray for a better tomorrow xx

I'm losing the plot! I don't know what else to try to get him to sleep! Xx

Dad used to put me in the car and drive round. That always worked!

Same here!

I can't drive so that's not an option 😔

must be something about today! My little one is the same. Last long nap was at 2! He’s been on an off crying for thr last three hours. Totally inconsolable! He’s finally given in, sleeping on me. But gosh it’s hard when they can’t tell you what’s wrong xx

My 7 week old has only taken 20 min naps today and constantly waking up. She fell asleep at 6:30pm and is still sleeping…too scared to wake her to feed her in case she won’t go back to sleep 😳

it's so difficult isn't it! I'm at my wits end. He's been awake for 10 hours now 😳 xx

I don't blame you! They're like ticking time bombs 😅

I had a day like this on Friday, baby had 1 x 20 minute nap in the morning and that was it. Finally got her to sleep at 10pm 😵💫 It’s so hard as it felt like the day would never end. he will go to sleep eventually though and tomorrow is a new day x

it is so tough! I keep reminding myself he has to sleep eventually bit it feels impossible 😅 tomorrow can't come quick enough! X

This has been my life for the last few days, baby boy is 9 nearly 10 weeks ans going through his 2nd leap so they why he's so fussy. Hang in there ladies you've got this! Xx

mine's just turned 9 weeks today. I did wonder if it's down to the leap xx

I get this 3/4 times a week, where she just won't sleep, I have a swing which sometimes works but as soon as I turn it off she's awake again😂

Explains a lot, mine has barely napped, just a contact nap this evening for 40 mins with my neck strained in an awkward position and too scared to readjust incase he woke up 🤯

mine never really sleeps well during the day but this is the worst he's been yet

it's so hard isn't it!

12:41am and he still hasn't slept🤯 I'm genuinely losing my mind

hope you got some sleep eventually? Fingers crossed today is better for you x

he finally went to sleep at 1.16am 🤯 today is another car crash. He woke up from his morning nap after only 30 mins. He will only sleep on me, just screams as soon as I try and put him down. I haven't eaten or brushed my teeth yet. Not gonna lie, I'm struggling x

oh no 😣 days like that are so tough. Hope it gets better soon, leap 2 seems to be horrible! sending hugs to you x

I’ve been struggling to get my baby to nap for the past few weeks 🥴 she’s 11 weeks now! Today has been a struggle… she’s only just settled down for a nap! Even then it’ll only be for half an hour… if that 🙄 before now she’d have three naps a day and would sleep for a good 1-2 hours at a time. Gets really tedious sometimes, overtired and whingey babies are the worst! 😅

I hope the rest of the leaps aren't as bad as this! I thought leap 1 was bad until we hit 2 😅 x

it's so difficult! Mine hasn't gone longer than 20 minutes today and that's contact napping! I cannot put him down without him screaming to the point he stops breathing. It's horrible isn't it!

certainly is 🥴 I know the struggle! Every nap for mine is a contact nap apart from the very few occasions where she’s worn herself out so much that she’s just fallen asleep wherever I’ve plonked her! She refuses to be put down, and she won’t just fall asleep either, it’s a good half an hour or so of patting and rocking… just for her to wake up after 20. And honestly, I’m exhausted 🥱 apparently they grow out of this… I’d like to know when 😅

can totally relate! Mine is exactly the same! Holding out for for the day he grows out of it 😅

my health visitor today said to let him cry up to half an hour to learn to self settle. He’s 8 weeks. I’m not recommending you do it but I am currently experiencing the not going down and that was the advice she gave me. I’m just worried about self settling at this age when he’s used to contact naps.

oh god I can't leave him cry that long 😭 I'm not a fan of the cry it out method. I actually thought it had been discredited, surprised a health visitor is recommending it!

well - self sooth method is what she called it. That it’s teaching him a new skill. Which I totally get but the process is brutal x

I can't physically allow mine to cry it out. It causes stress to you and the baby and you feed off each other so it just becomes a vicious cycle so I don't see the validity or the value of recommending it.

so are they saying that's different from cry it out? I can see the value in them learning to self soothe but I'm not sure my bubs is at a stage where he's able to do that yet x

yeah it's not something I'm happy to do x

I completely agree. I want him to have the skill but he’s not ready to don’t get and neither am I! x
