Hervey Bay Hospital

We're moving to Hervey Bay in a few months and wanted to know if anyone has given birth at the hospital there? Any advice or reviews?

I had a wonderful experience! I had an urgent induction at 36 +6, and they were very thorough in explaining the risks, and procedures they would need to follow due to induction/baby being early. (Explained that a paediatrician would be at the birth for safety, and how the resus table works IF needed(thankfully we didnt))

I had a very midwife centered birth, in dim lighting and was allowed to go at my own pace. Before the induction, the complex care midwife made a 1 on 1 appointment to explain the stages of my induction to ease my nerves and was absolutely wonderful.

There is the facilities to have babies 32weeks+ at the hospital, (they have 2 nicu beds as well for earlier babies that need to go to brisbane).

My daughter was under special care for a few days, and the doctors in there were wonderful. Due to being lower risk, I was allowed to have her in my room, and just had to bring her every 2-3 hours to be checked on.

The hospital was great prior when getting checked for reduced movements or any of my worries. The obstetricians I met, all took their time to listen to my worries and didn't dismiss how I felt.

They are understaffed, however tried their hardest to ensure we felt looked after. Overall i loved the experience, and would love to give birth there again.

I’m moving to Hervey Bay in January and giving birth in Feb via c section so it’ll be good to see people’s reviews too!

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Baby Movements

Hello, I’m a FTM currently 18W5D pregnant. I’ve been getting this tugging feeling in my stomach after I eat, it’s uncomfortable but not painful. I don’t know whether that’s the baby moving or round ligaments pain.

I’ve also been getting round ligament pain which is either a sharp stabbing pain or a stretching sensation. These happens whether or not I’ve eaten while the tugging feeling is only after I’ve eaten.

So, could the tugging feeling be the baby or something else.

information

is there any one on here that had or has pregnancy diabetes.

so my results were all fine accept the one after the drink that was 10.0 and now im having to watch what I eat and prick my self 4 times a day.
I'm just wondering if there was any one around that same mark as I am that ended up coming off it all and went back to there normal self or is this going to be me right until the end im 28 weeks on tuesday ive cut out my fizzy juice my chocolate and yes ive started having a lunch but im bloody starving all the time and now im scared that because baby is growing alot more now that im starving him as feels like it i loved having wee snacks during the day to keep hunger away before dinner time but now I have this worry that if I have a snack 2 hours before my dinner that is my dinner ruined not because I wont eat it all but because the bloods will go up high and then thats another meal I cant have. I live with a chef so there is alot less sugar in my dinners which is a bonus but portion size I feel like a child again having to cut it down. Honestly this is the worst thing that can happen threw pregnancy take me back to the time you can eat what you want when you want and everything wasn't timed. Can't even go out for a nice meal or a lunch as scared that it will bring my levels right up this worrying isnt doing me any favours sooner my little healthy boy is in my arms the sooner I can start enjoying food again as im certainly not enjoying this
