Anyone have any tips on how to manage a nursing strike. 8 week old exclusively breastfed and until last week or so has been managing well. Currently in a phase of latching for only a few mins then pulling away screaming won't latch back on ..tried winding etc worried she's not drinking enough anyone had anything similar/ got any tips

That's a leap.
If you are worried, count wet nappies.
Try different nursing positions. Try nursing while standing up and walking around (cradle hold works or else use a carrier)

Thanks ladies yeh I've started counting wet nappies and she's had two feeds this morning il bare these tips in mind if it all goes to pot again at 2am ,🙃 x

My 12 week old is also going through a nursing strike. It's heart breaking. She refuses to breast feed and cries a fit anytime I try. So far we've been tricking her with a pacifier. Give her the pacifier till she calms down then a quick swap out and boob in. Works 90% of the time, but we have had to give a bottle of pumped milk a few times. It's been 4 days, not sure how long strikes are supposed to be. She was perfect at breastfeeding since the min she was born until now.

Is it possible she’s over tired? My lo was doing this and it turned out she needed rocking to sleep and didn’t have the energy for a feed

things seem to have settled down now I also gave her the odd bottle of expressed milk as I was worried she wasn't getting enough. I think she was possibly under the weather. I did find walking around with her latched seemed to help as suggested by Ella x

@Charlotte things have settled down for us too. Glad to hear you're little one is doing good.
