So my doctor said it was ok to start our little man with some food. We are doing the gerber-assisted sitter stage. He eats the entire container of sweet potatoes but still seems hungry. Does anyone else have this and just give them a smaller bottle?

@Danielle Yeah he only gets it once a day he had already had his bottle earlier he just didn't seem full with one serving

He doesn't need to be full from solids. You want him to be full from milk. For every meal. If he's hungry after a whole serving of puree, you didn't give him enough milk.

Milk first then food

Food at this age is to taste things, and also learn how to eat. It's not as much for nutrition.
I also disagree with before six months, but that is your child your choice

He’ll still be hungry as it’s not needed and he’s getting no goodness from it, so although his stomachs full he’s not satisfied- he’s too young for solids and all it will do is make him sick if you’re giving him too much with milk.. honestly I’d drop the solids and give milk to ensure you’re meeting the nutritional needs which he’ll get from milk

pediatricians approve solid food for babies 4months & older. however, his nutrition comes from milk. definitely feed him til he’s full with milk & then feed him the solids for taste & not a whole lot, just a few spoon fulls.
