Anyone else have or had a 21m old who will not try new foods? I give him new foods all the time but have his meals I know he'll eat on standby and he refuses to try things he doesn't recognise. Any tips on how to make him more curious?

What works for us is give him the food and a dip he likes. He will lick it off then often bite it even if he spits it out.

Don't have anything on standby, it'll make him not try because he'll know he'll get what he wants. He won't starve! 1 new think with each meal and keep offering, it's something ridiculous like 20 times you have to offer a new food

I'd love to eat at the same time as him but his Dad doesn't get home until late so I don't have the toddler free time to prepare a meal for us. And his Dad would miss dinner then too.

as much as I understand that, my son eats so much better when we all eat together. Maybe when trying something new you need to eat with him.

I just don't know how I'd prepare a dinner for me and my little while he's hanging off me. And then do dinner for one when his Dad gets home.

make the same dinner for all and he can heat it up. We have a lot of pasta and meatballs or one pot currys.
