When did you go for proper food rather than purée’s? My little one has been on puree meals since 4 months old, he’s now 5 months and likes to chew on stuff constantly bringing stuff to his mouth.
I’m debating starting baby led and trying things like banana and broccoli for him to hold himself?

You can start it when you think he’s ready. To me it sounds like he might be! Just make sure to steam/boil the veg to a consistency where you’re able to squash it with your fingers easily. The solid starts app is good as it shows you the appropriate ways to serve veg/fruit to a baby based on their age :)

I’ve only started with one of my twins on baby porridge, he loves it

Sorry my twins are 6 months and a week now

Can he stay in a sitting position in a high chair? It’s dangerous to give solid food to a baby who doesn’t have good trunk control as it increases the risk of choking.
BLW isn’t recommended before around 6 months of age as it’s unlikely (but not impossible) that baby meets all the signs of readiness to make it safe before then.
Obviously you know your baby best just some things to consider x

Also to do true BLW you don’t offer purées at all, there’s a really good Facebook page called weaning the BLW way that I’d recommend for lots of helpful information x
