My 17 month old LOVES bananas. So much so that the past two days he’s been giving us a hard time eating any other foods during mealtimes. He doesn’t speak many words but bananas is one he’s really trying to speak (or yell 😅).
Just curious what have you all been doing if your toddler becomes hyper focused on one food?

Try offering two other things for them to choose from. My girls thing is apples but to be fair she call oranges and strawberries apples too 🤣

So I’ll have two other things on the table for him that he normally likes but literally just the past two days he’s been a little banana fiend where he will yell banana and not want the other foods 🥲

That’s tough. Usually it’s just a phase but can be hard to get necessary nutrients if refusing all other foods. Hopefully it’s not a sensory thing.

Our son is also obsessed with bananas, and he would point at it when we’re serving him a meal. We had to resort to covering the bananas so that he doesn’t see them during meal time. For him anything out of sight is often out of mind (not always the case with bananas)

yeah I think I’m gonna have to start hiding bananas as well. 🙃

My son is obsessed with them to the point where I’m not allowed to walk passed them at the store n if I do welp I’m by 3 packs of Bananas 😂😂 I litterly limit him to 2 a day but I cut them in half so he thinks he’s having more but in reallty he’s only having 2 n it’s interrupting with his acutely meal time sometimes I’ll even put his 1 half with his food cut up and he’ll eat everything on the plate I also hid them on the fridge behind the cereal 😂 cause when I had them in front welp he tell me mama nana nana but hey gota be happy he wants a banana rather then junk food I say lol

My son is also obsessed with bananas. At one point, that's all he would eat. Breakfast lunch and dinner bananas. I was just happy he was eating lol.
