Hello, I just need to know I’m not totally ballsing things up. So I’ve been doing BLW since the off and he gets a good mix of stuff and never seems hungry….and usually seems to be finished when he loses interest in the meal. But I’ve been reading some stuff nhs and other resources and it seems I’ve not been giving him anywhere near enough stuff as I should be for his age. Like omg I’ve never given him a dessert ?!?!! WTF 😬 usually we have toast or porridge or a weetabix or pancake for brekkie. A home made veg muffin -usually quite small or a Brocolli fritter or something else picky type stuff and then a home made main for dinner like curry or stew or something that contains protein veg carbs etc and it is a decent size portion in my opinion. But reading all this stuff like should get 3 portions of fruit each day and dessert after lunch and dinner .?!?? 😭 what is everyone else doing? He seems to

I’ve never given a traditional dessert other than fruit/greek yoghurt. So I count the portion of fruit that I offer with brekkie/lunch/dinner as ‘dessert’ and I also have some frozen Greek yoghurt and fruit puree drops that I offer a couple of after lunch/dinner. If we do porridge there’s fruit added to it, if we do toast or muffin I offer some fruit on the side.
Sounds like he’s eating great things :) but adding a little fruit for after each meal or as snacks (if he wants them) is what we do!
Don’t stress ^_^

We always give fruit in some form with every meal, mainly because he bloody loves fruit. He has a huge sweet tooth. So example of food for the day:
Breakfast: Porridge with either mashed banana or some fruit purée pouches
Lunch: Avocado, crisps and 1 large strawberry
Dinner: Whatever we are eating with some fruit purée pouch or another whole strawberry or yoghurt

Don't worry desert can just be fruit and yoghurt it doesn't need to be a chocolate fudge cake with custard or anything fancy 🤣 we do wheetabix with fruit (prunes/mangoes or pears something like that - normally as a puree) lunch is either a sammy / cheese on toast / muffins or something like that with tomatoes cucumber and celery and tea is usually whatever we are having with salad or veg and fruit and yog for 'pudding' 😊

I've been doing the same thing 🤷🏼♀️ she does sometimes have a yogurt but she normally seems full after her main meal so we never normally offer anything else and she's definitely putting weight on as she's gone up a centile, but tbf she's still on a fair bit of milk so maybe I'll try adding a dessert!
