I have a 1 year old daughter and when she was about 9 months I hit a wall mentally,I was crying all the time and everything was doom and gloom,I did speak to the doctors but I was told because I didn’t want to harm myself that there was nothing they could do,obviously deflated I just suffered for months and it did subside a little but now I’m pregnant with our 2nd and I’ve been fine for the first 2 months but the past 2 months I’m back to crying and feeling really down. My partner is in the army,he tries to come home at least once or twice a month and I have my mum who can help once a fortnight for a few hours. I keep finding myself have random outbursts of crying and feeling hopeless. I have booked a doctors appointment tomorrow but I’ve just realised it’s with the doctor who didn’t help me the first time I reached out! Is this just pregnancy hormones or something else? I’m tempted to cancel my appointment tomorrow to reschedule with someone else but I’ve lost faith in my doctors and I’ve had a bad experience with 2 now!

I’d say talk to your midwife. They tend to have a better understanding of what pregnancy and being a mum can do to your mental health than a standard all round GP. The midwife should be able to help you and/or refer you to someone they’d trust
I’ve only had a booking appointment with the midwife and I explained I’ve been really down and I was also having faint and dizzy spells and she just said it’s normal I was out within 5 minutes,it was clear I was the last patient and the other midwife was packing her bags as I was there 🤦🏻♀️

I also agree that midwives can be more help if you’re not happy with your current one, search for one that is highly recommended. Mine are very very good but I had to switch my first one because my first one my first pregnancy was making me feel worse lol. You could also look into doulas and other providers that may over more personalized support
