When I traveled via rail solo with my newborn, they were super helpful! You'll get priority boarding if you travel with a child, and can ask for someone to help carry your stroller, carseat or luggage on and off the train (they usually ask if you need help). Having a baby carrier definitely helped, but if your toddler is walking, then I don't think it's necessary. I would definitely recommend having someone meet you at the train station to help carry everything to a car. I've done 3 trips now with my infant, and they have always been very accommodating. I had no issues bringing a full-size stroller and carseat.
I thought you had to pay for business class to get priority boarding

Seniors and people traveling with children also get priority boarding, although business class goes first. I even traveled on viarail when I was 7 months pregnant, and they put in priority boarding

I will add that I used a duffle bag for my luggage that fit in my strollers storage basket, and had a travel system stroller where the carseat clicks in. They offered to help me carry my stroller and bag on to the train, so I just carried the carseat.
that’s good, I’ll keep that in mind thank you
