C-Section and nail polish

I am having a c-section tomorrow and did my nails tonight to relax the nerves. I just thought there they might ask me to remove them (UK based) - can I check if people were asked/told to have nothing on their nails?

i’m not in the UK, but i had my nails painted and all of my nurses even complimented them lol

I think it depends on your trust a bit, I have seen people post saying some minded and some didn’t. In an emergency one they don’t have time to take it off so they must have ways around it. Worst comes to worst they may just ask you to take it off before.

But if you’re having a section tomorrow then try and get some sleep, it’s 1am and you will need as much rest as you can before 😂

I had nail polish on for my emergency c section and had no problems. I was asked to take nail polish off for my scheduled c section. After looking it up, some said that it can change the accuracy of the oxygen heart and finger monitor they use (at least in the US).

In the US, but had hybrid gel on mine and had no issues.

Yeah, I had gel nails done and my surgeon was asking me about the colour. She loved them! No problems xx

I’m UK, I haven’t had my C-section yet but have already been told not to wear nail varnish.

Had nails on for all 3 of my sections (hands and feet). You’ll be fine 😊 (U.K.) xx

I received an email yesterday about my elective section and it states no nail varnish - although I know I had it on last time when I had an emergency section with my daughter. It’s to do with measuring oxygen levels more accurately

I’m in the UK and was told to remove all nail polish x

I had a planned section & had nail varnish on hands & toes and no issues xx

My hospital didn't

I had gel on during my scheduled csection. I did ask about them and the midwife basically said it's not like they will refuse you because of it. Wink wink. X

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Baby Movements

Hello, I’m a FTM currently 18W5D pregnant. I’ve been getting this tugging feeling in my stomach after I eat, it’s uncomfortable but not painful. I don’t know whether that’s the baby moving or round ligaments pain.

I’ve also been getting round ligament pain which is either a sharp stabbing pain or a stretching sensation. These happens whether or not I’ve eaten while the tugging feeling is only after I’ve eaten.

So, could the tugging feeling be the baby or something else.
