Mucus plug AFTER c section
With my first my waters burst and then my mucus plug came out whole. It was massive, a huge glob dangling between my legs which was so slimy I couldn’t ‘pull’ it out.
I had a planned section this time as my first ended in an emergency so didn’t loose my waters or my plug. Since having her I am having big slimey plug like discharge. It’s clear but brown blood stained and I often have to ‘pull’ it out when it’s half dangling out (sorry I’m aware this is gross) and it got me thinking.. is this my plug? As where does it go if you don’t loose it/birth a baby vaginally.
I’m 8 days pp and it’s still coming in bits. Anyone else experience this? There is no smell so I’m not concerned, just curious!

I’ve no idea about the plug. Same as you I had an emergency and then planned. I didn’t see it at all first time and only little bits before the planned one this time. I just assume it comes out when they massage your uterus down to contract and clear as much blood as possible before they close your stitches. I think if you are having thick brown discharge now it’s worth contacting the hospital as could be a sign of retained placenta or infection x
I’ve been having jelly like discharge and I’m 8days pp. maybe this is what I’m having too!
