Doesn’t matter when, how, what or where we feed him the boy is barely interested.
We upped it to three meals to see if that helped but tbh it just feels like I’ve given myself more to make and more to clean up.
He eats almost or actually nothing of each meal. Plays with it, squeezes it, drops it on the floor. He does put some stuff in his mouth and he will eat little bits and bobs but like come onnnnnn. I know you aren’t meant to compare but I literally don’t know anyone whose baby isn’t into food yet.
He’s quite happy and chill but like why aren’t you eating hun! I called the HV a while ago and she suggested he was having too much milk but that’s meant to be his main source no??

How many ml is he having a day? X

we give him an 8oz 5x a day but it’s incredibly rare for him to finish it. He’ll maybe drink 5/ 6oz so that could be likkkeee 735 ml?

I would definitely do less bottles if you can try and drop one? So we are down to 4 bottles and only on 2 meals. We try to space them out so she is hungry to eat. At 3 meals you would only worry if milk drops below 600ml per day. Have you tried the kiddilicious wafers? I wouldnt say my baby is a massive eater but if all else fails she will always eat those as part of a meal

I literally just gave my little boy one of those wafers and he devoured it 🤣

the guidelines for 8 month olds is 600ml so you could cut a feed and try food instead so that way you know he’s hungry

my baby is obsessed! no idea why as they are basically polystyrene lol 🙃

see this is where I don’t get it cause I’ve given him food when in theory should be hungry and he’ll still piss about. Then I’ll give him his bottle 30 mins later and he necks it.. I just feel uncomfortable feeding him less milk than he wants but I understand the theory..

we always do milk first (as advised by HV) as it satisfies their hunger straight away whereas food takes longer and on an empty belly they can get annoyed with food- so milk first then food 1-2 hours later then repeat x

I totally get it in theory but I thought you were meant to drop bottles when they had managed to replace them with solids. I feel weird not giving him the milk he wants when a lot of the info you see says it should still be his main source of nutrition🤷🏻♀️. Gahhhhhhh I hate this. Me and his dad are such foodies I just took for granted that he’d be like YES FOOD NOW

yeah we do this, I just tried to see if hungry hungry was better a couple times and it was not unfortunately!

if you do milk first then food you wont be not giving him the milk he wants 🥰 I did it this way and she dropped from 5 bottles to 4 herself, and soon I will add in another meal and imagine she will drop to 3 bottles in time! I totally get it, its such a faff though and a complete minefield!

Ah okay yeah worth a try!!

Hey, I’m in the exact same position. He went through a stage recently of about two weeks where he ate much more but when I say more I mean he’d have like 5 spoonfuls of food. He once ate half a pouch of food and then once ate the whole bowl of weetabix I’d made him but other than that it’d be like a few spoons. I spoke to the HV and she said just keep offering and she advised to reduce breastfeeding which I ignored because it seemed like really stupid advice. He’s not refusing food because he’s not hungry, it’s because he just isn’t interested. It’s really frustrating and I totally empathise with you. I’m hoping he’ll start to like food soon cos I’m going back to work 😬

Mine is the same
