Advice please!

Me and my husband has had a rocky 8 months, pretty much since I gave birth. And we agreed to go to therapy. I never go through his phone but I realized he changed the password to his phone about a month ago when he told me to look for something in his phone. He gave me a bs answer idk if I want to believe but I let it go anyway. Today our 8 month old had his phone and I’m kind of fighting her to get it back and I see he has a dating app on there. What should I do yall? Should I say something now? Or should I wait until our first therapy session which isn’t til the 31st ?

I would say something! If you don’t it’s gonna eat you up until the 31st, you’ll probably be on edge & it will probably cause more arguments.
I’m sorry you saw that😕

Avatar

Yeah. It’s definitely eating at me right now. I really don’t have the mental capacity to have another argument but at the same time I need to bring this up. I just want to give up so bad and go out separate ways but I want my daughter to have a chance to grow up in a 2 parent household.

Idk if this were me, I'd grab his phone, demand the password, then go through the dating app in front of him, asking questions, but if you bring it up to him he might get defensive and quickly delete idk what type of guy he is

Avatar

apparently idk either 😂🤦🏾‍♀️. Demanding will just cause more problems.

Avatar

😂😭 then there's definitely something to hide on his part, he knows it, he knows you know it.

I think in your therapy session he may try to deny it, so I don't know, I'd honestly just be like what the fuck is this and straight up attack, I wouldn't be able to wait 😬

Avatar

I took a picture of the app from his phone so I wish he would try to deny it😂. You know how on iPhones even if it’s locked, if you swipe down it’ll show you the recently visited apps? That’s how I saw it.

Avatar

Omggggg perfect you took a pic 😂
Yeah definitely odd behaviour on his part, I'm so sorry you're going through this, but so glad you saw it at the same time!!

Avatar

Is there any way you need his phone for anything? For example - I need my hubby's phone if I wanna log into our electricity bill app cause it sends a code to his email for me to get in etc, could you do something like that where you need his phone, but be right next to him? Then be like "what was that" and pretend you saw it and ask? Even if you didn't, gaslight him 😂

Avatar

Update! I asked him about it and he claims that it’s just there and he’s not doing anything with it. He says “I’m always in the house with you how do I have time to meet up with women?” I’m like true but you could also be chatting with someone. Then goes to say “that’s all it is. I need friends cuz I’m always in the house and me and you aren’t on good terms” I’m like there are other apps that doesn’t say dating that you can use. I left it alone for now but best believe it’s being brought back up in therapy. One thing I can say about him is that he’s a truthful individual. And idk if he’s using that to his advantage to get me to think he’s telling the truth.

Avatar

sounds very sketchy to me. he admitted to chatting on the dating app, which means he is at least probably flirting with other women

Avatar

Yeah but why is he on a dating app and not a meet friends app - like there's bumble then there's bff bumble - two separate apps, why is he talking to women? I wouldn't trust him even if he's usually truthful because fact of matter is that he has dating apps on his phone and he's changed his password which is shady to me! Best of luck though xx

Avatar

Exactly 🤦🏾‍♀️. Thank yall for the advice though

Avatar

Umm I do the same thing, I’ve downloaded dating apps and made some really good friends on there. Don’t go through his phone, that’s an invasion of privacy. If he wanted to leave he would be gone and it’s clearly hurting him that you guys are not on good terms, don’t feed into drama, he sounds like a really good dude. Just focus on bettering yourself - it’s obvious just by reading this that he loves you

Is this clever or cruel?

My husband and i were talking and with social media and the internet in general being a terrifying dumpster fire, we are trying to figure out the best way to keep our son safe while still teaching him how to safely be online and moderation.

We landed on the idea of giving him the 90's kid treatment. A computer in the living room for us to keep an eye on what hes doing online, and once we feel hes mature enough to hang with friends without adult supervision he gets a flip phone. When we feel he is responsible enough and he earns and saves up the money for the physical phone, case, and screen cover, then we will be happy to take him to get a smart phone.

I thought this was air tight, but now my brother says its cruel to give a kid a flip phone, and besides he can just use his friends phones at school.

My husband and i remember a time before the internet, and we remember having complete access to something no one understood yet. We saw unspeakable things and are always battling with the urge to put the phone and social media down. I dont want that for my son, especially with his brain so vulnerable still.

Partner no longer wants baby #2

Before our son was born we originally both wanted minimum 2 kids but we were hoping for 3-4. My partner found the birth traumatic to watch and also struggled a lot with the newborn/baby stage. He no longer wants to have any more children and it’s completely breaking my heart. I need another baby. We’ve spoken about it a lot and the options. He said he wasn’t COMPLETELY closed off to it so I asked him to try and work through his feelings and reconsider his decision. He eventually said he definitely doesn’t want another. I know that I will always want one and my feelings will never change. Do we have to break up or does anyone know anything else I can do to help change his mind? Has anyone else’s partner said this and then changed their mind? I don’t want to break up because I adore him and our life together and I’d hate to split up our family for “selfish” reasons and make my son miss out on having both of us together but I just don’t know what to do

Nursery funding

My child turned 9 months last week. I applied for government funded hours nearly 2 months ago and so well within the required timeframe for the April term, however upon receiving my first invoice without the funding applied and having questioned this, I have now been informed that the stretched funding doesn’t start until 4th May.

Has anyone else been told it won’t start until May?

The government site states it should start from April 1st, and so I intentionally set my nursery start and return to work as the start of April for that reason, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to afford the nursery on my sole income without the funding

Jealous of my husband

I’m so jealous of him and it’s making me resentful. We have a ten week old and I’m jealous that he is at work all day. I’m jealous he can leave for lunch and actually eat an uninterrupted lunch. Take a phone call uninterrupted. Chat with a friend he runs in to uninterrupted. Even go to the bathroom when he wants uninterrupted. He comes home from work when he wants. He’s not on a set schedule. Some days are late some are early. It depends on when he’s done. I’m jealous he can come home at 10pm and shower, eat and go right to bed uninterrupted because I already have the baby asleep. He doesn’t have to worry about anything house wise or baby wise because I’ve done it all. Meanwhile I’m covered in puke and crap and smell like rotten milk. When he is home he is VERY active and helpful. So it’s not that. I’m just jealous his world hasn’t changed and mine has I guess. This isn’t something he’s doing wrong so I’m not sure how to get past this. I wish I could keep him home all day because that’s how helpful he is, but I understand he obv needs to work.

Toddlers

How often are your toddlers asking for food? My oldest who is 3 just finished a whole plate of food and not even 10 minutes later he’s requesting more food. I know he’s going through a growth spurt, but how do you respond to this.
