Taking LO abroad

Hi everyone
My LG will be 16 weeks next week, but 10 weeks of corrected age.
We'd previously planned that my partner's parents would visit us for Christmas, but his dad died last month in Nigeria, and his mum doesn't want to travel anymore. My partner has left for Nigeria to attend the funeral. We don't want his mum to spend Christmas alone, so I'm considering flying down with our LG.
I'm a bit worried about travelling alone with her and if she'd be to cope with the stress of the flight and most importantly if it's safe for her to go.

She's been doing really well and has put on good weight, but I'm just worried as it's unfamiliar territory for me.

Sorry for your loss ❤️ that’s a tricky one though especially with a newborn. Is she unable to travel at all or just refusing to?

The flight bit is the easy part, we started flying with our daughter around 9 weeks out long haul and they really are easy travellers.

The tricky part is she will need a passport, a Nigerian visa and at least her first jabs. I feel like I needed my yellow fever vaccine to visit but that was over a decade ago so I might be wrong 🤔

Given that she was premature I would check with your doctor to get the ok for the flight. I’m sure it’s probably fine but worth checking.

@Sarah

Thank you. She's refusing to and is trying to respect traditions of mourning for 40 days.

She's had her first 2 jabs and is due her 16 weeks jabs next week.

We've applied for an Emergency Travel Certificate and hope it's approved.

School pick up mums

Trying to work out the school pick up routine. When you have a baby and a school age kid what helps you to be ready on time? Advice welcome

Male nursery worker

Am I being unreasonable? I feel uncomfortable with a male nursery worker changing my daughter’s nappies. I was told he was “helping out” for a day? But no explanation was given. Can I raise it with the head without being seen as problematic? To be completely honest, I found it unsettling and odd he just appeared out of the blue..

Screen-Free

Any other moms doing no screens? How do you get anything done or deal with the crying?? I feel like I never get a moment for myself or to even do things that need to be done like cleaning or cooking. My baby loves to be held all day but hates carriers. No judgement please! We are trying to do no screens for the first two years. Sometimes I have to just let him cry for a bit while I do something for myself and it feels awful. And let's not even get into the screaming in the car...I don't know if it's true and I feel kinda bad for saying this but I feel like screen-free parents just deal with a lot more crying 😞

Childminders

After a bit of advice. My son has been at a childminders since September last year. I'm finding her to be increasing unreliable, so far this year she's had 4 days closed and multiple times when I drop him off she informs me I need to collect him early, sometimes 2 hours early.
This is losing me money as I have a job that I can then not go to, as it's too short notice to arrange alternative childcare.
I've not had a childminder before, so I'm unsure if this is the norm?

Does anyone homeschool toddlers 2-3 years old?

If yes can you share what resources you are using, where you find them etc…
