Centrelink PPL Help please

Hi all, I had my first baby in March 2023, so have been on maternity leave since then. I'd been employed full time, so received the government Paid Parental Leave. I've been on unpaid maternity leave since then, and am due with my second in March 2025. I'm still employed by the company, but haven't received any pay from them or worked any days with them since Feb 2023.

When submitting my new claim for PPL for this child (as I thought I should since I'm still employed?) It asks about working days within the year, which I have not done any. It says I may not be eligible for PPL.
Does this mean I'm eligible for some other payment or that I'm not eligible for anything?
Thank you! 😊

(Centrelink closed so can't call to ask them)

I believe you can apply for Family Tax Benefit and if you’re not working I think they will pay you a one time newborn supplement payment.

You have to have worked at least one hour per week for 10 of the 13 months before the child is born.
I was also denied.

Would only be the family tax benefit. You need to work 10 months minimum prior including pregnancy also to be eligible for the PPL again. Not just days of employment needs to be working days.

If you’re partnered it would depend on his income to if you can apply for another payment. Have you used the payment finder and input all your details into that? It should give you a more accurate answer based on your personal circumstances.

You won’t be eligible for PLP, but depending on your combined household income, you may be eligible for Family Tax Benefits A&B.

Hello 🫶

Looking to make new friends, no matter where you are! Being at home all the time with just a tiny person for company can be lonely so I’m reaching out to see if anyone is out there in the same position - I am also a really good listener so if you need to rant then I’m here! 👋🏼🤍

Deleting app

I’m so ready to delete this app. I don’t think people actually want to gain friendships. I’ve only had little conversations and that’s it. What a bummer 😒

Socialising

I’m due on July 9th, and lately I just don’t feel like myself socially. Before pregnancy, I loved seeing my friends, making plans, going out it used to genuinely excite me. But now… I just don’t have the energy or desire for it.

All I seem to want is to stay at home, be with my partner, and keep things really low-key. I’ve been cancelling plans a lot, and it’s starting to make me feel like a bad friend or like I’m being selfish. I do love my friends, nothing has changed in that sense I just don’t feel up to socialising at all.

I’m also just so exhausted all the time, and part of me worries I’m isolating myself or that something’s wrong with me.

Has anyone else felt like this during pregnancy? Is this normal? I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s gone through something similar 🤍

What do I do if I can’t go back to work

I’m actually doing my first week back at work and it’s already a nightmare. I live in wales so don’t get any free childcare. I feel like I actually can’t go back to work. It’s too expensive to put both my kids in nursery and I currently have mine and my partners mums doing a day each of childminding.
Both parents are already facing challenges doing their day due to both having their own business and personal issues.

If I quit my job, could I go on UC? My partner just has a standard job.
Anyone else experiencing this?

My second pregnancy and it feels so lonely. Almost no one asks about the baby, no gifts (which don’t matter but basically no attention), I feel no one is excited specially because I’ll be having the same gender.

Feels hard because you still go through all the things physical aches and stuff. By yourself!
