My husband and I are considering moving to Portugal from the United States. We simply don’t feel safe since Trump was re-elected. We have a 2 year old son, and I just found out I’m pregnant with my second. We desperately want to provide the best and most safe life possible for our family. Portugal has always intrigued us but I’ve never been and I don’t know much about it. I could probably continue to work remote, but my husband would need to find work. How is the job market? What are some areas that you all recommend we look into that is good for families (ideally near the coast, my husband is a surfer). Also, are there any expats in the group? I would love to hear about your experiences with moving. We don’t know where to start. Thanks moms 🫶🏽

Hi! We moved to Portugal from Rússia last summer with a 5 y o. The country is awesome, safe and sunny, great for raising kids. But economics is weak, so jobs are terribly low-paid here. Bureucracy and no-digitalization is the 2nd issue for us.
I would be happy to navigante you more and answer your quesions, feel free to DM!

Im Portuguese living in UK and we are moving back to Portugal for safety reasons as well as UK is going bonkers 🥲
Back at Dash, 100% agree with her. Great country, amazing food, sunny, safe, great to raise a kid, but economics are bad.
We are only going back because we got fully remote jobs.
If you earn well enough in America, and stay working fully remote from Portugal, your salary alone might be more then enough to support your entire family to be honest.
Happy to help with more questions if you want to DM me too 😊
