Anyone have any suggestions for starting solids? My son loves purées but is getting weird with textures, so I want to make sure he gets exposed to eating solid solid food to get familiar with the textures and consistencies, but I’m SO nervous 🥲

Generally if you can easily squish it between two fingers then it’s safe for baby to eat! The Solid Starts website can give you tips on safe food prep (size of cuts, cooking method, etc.). We’ve started with things like steamed sweet potato, strawberry, & avocado

I have given mostly pureed foods still. But will change up textures so I’ll add oatmeal to a puree to thicken it or give cottage cheese, yogurt with tiny chunks of fruit in it. We had pizza a few weeks ago and it had a soft thick crust so I ate the pizza part and then handed him my crust and he loved it. He could hold onto it easy and chew on it, he ended up eating basically the whole piece
