I think you just need to adjust your expectations. Babies and toddlers are messy 🤷♀️
My toddler cleans her own toys. She’s not allowed to move onto the next unless she does. It was something I instilled very early on and it takes so much collaborative practice. You have to be playing with them a lot and correct behavior a lot between 1-2 2-3. My girls just about to be 3 and she has it down pat with the occasional need of reminder, but obviously there’s still messes (spills, crumbs, etc) and big ol house cleaning tasks. Best advice is stop picking up after them and have them pick up after themselves every single time. No yelling, no getting frustrated. Just “clean up” and WAIT. If they go to play with another toy, point back to the uncleaned one and say “clean up” again. Repeat! Help a bit but they need to do.
Hey mama, I hope you are okay?! It can be a lot sometimes, just give yourself a moment to breathe…you’ve got this! My house is a constant mess whilst my LG is awake, I only get time to clean up when she’s fast asleep! You’re not alone, just don’t burn yourself out and do things at your own pace, your little one needs you at your best. Maybe you can sit with them and clear up together…my little one loves cleaning up with me whether it’s her toys or her food mess, it gives her a sense of independence. It won’t last forever…don’t be too hard on yourself or them, one day when they’re all grown up, you’ll wish you could go back xx
it’s just how toddlers are - they’re interactive & want to play with everything at once
