Baby blues

Hey all! I’m currently 6 days postpartum with a 4 year old and I’m going through it bad! I’m randomly crying, having anxiety, and just having a hard time being happy, in a moment I’m suppose to be the happiest.. if anyone has any tips I’ll greatly appreciate them! I’m just feeling so alone and so sad.

Oh it’s so tough 😢 seeing posts like this takes me back to those really tough beginning weeks. Hopefully this will give you some reassurance that it is 100% normal and will pass. I found self care would really help. My husband would take them both for 15 mins or so every morning so I could get dressed and sort myself out by myself. Having some tv to look forward to in the evening helped ease any nighttime anxiety. It’s also so hard when no one is going through it at the same time. Sending lots of love! X

Agree with self care, going out for a coffee, talking with other people. Basically just don’t isolate yourself.

Do you have anyone who can come over and help? Maybe take the 4 year old to the park or to grab lunch so you can have just one kid at home? Or someone who can be there for you to take a bath/ shower? Even just 20 mins alone will feel so nice.

Hang in there. You’re in a really tough time but it will get better.

Nighttime nappies

Hi all, does anyone have recommendations for a good nappy for nights? 3 month old is sleeping in good stretches but nappies can’t keep up. Tried Aldi and pampers and now on Sainsbury’s and they are great in day but not at night?! Thanks so much

Co sleeping

Hello! What do you do to stop the baby from rolling off the edge of the bed? Out bed is quite high and LO had now learnt to roll!

How much sex a month?

How many times a month in the first year postpartum do you and your husband have sex? (Trying to figure out what the normal range is for partners with a baby!)

Schedule/Routine

My LO is 11 weeks and I’m trying to start building a routine, as I’ve noticed her sleep varies. The last couple of days have been really difficult to get her to nap and she’s clearly tired but fights it. I’m wondering if I had more structure in our day, if it would help. She also doesn’t sleep through the night yet. Any recommendations or methods that worked for people? Or is this all normal and I just need to wait it out?

Breastfeeding

Does it actually get easier?

Two weeks postpartum and I’m exhausted. Baby is awake every 1-2 hours feeding and is EBF. I can’t sleep during day as my toddler doesn’t nap and so I feel like I’m running on fumes.
Do you get longer stretches when baby is breastfed? I’ve seen some women say they haven’t slept in years for more than two hours due to breastfeeding!
