I was considering giving my eight month old spiral mac & cheese today. I know you can give them pasta with some butter, but was curious if this would be okay. He already has his pincer grasp on both hands.

My son loves Mac and cheese. I don't see why not

If he's good with dairy and there isn't a ton of salt in there, he's good!

My guy LOVE Mac and cheese spirals. Did you know they’re actually the healthiest of the kraft one? 🤣🫣

That would be fine to give to your 8month old, I give that to my son most meal times and he loves it.
Try teaching your 8month with spoon or folk and get him/her used to it,
That will help you along the way.

I been given mine it since I started weaning at 6m but if he’s not good with chewing I would suggest using fusilli pasta as it falls apart easier in there mouths. I worked in nurserys and it was the only pasta they was allowed to use due to it falling apart more easy

I’ve been giving it since 6 months but make the cheese sauce from scratch to ensure that it’s not full of preservatives and nasties.
It’s much simpler than you’d imagine…
Melt butter in a pan, add flour until it’s like a wet sand consistency, slowly add milk whilst stirring (I prefer to use a whisk personally) until it’s a sauce consistency and then add your choice of cheese. Keep adding cheese/milk until you’re at your preferred consistency

I do Mac and cheese for my daughter but really it’s Mac and blended up veggies 😆 she loves it. I use the Annie’s organic pasta usually one that has shapes so they break apart easier.

I wouldn't personally give the kind from a box at that age. I make the sauce myself.
