Hey everyone, after having a huge increase in symptoms I have been able to get in to see the consultants as an emergency and have my appointment tomorrow. I also have had and needed treatment for birth trauma after an emergency c section (sep 24) so anything medical feels really scary. Do we generally recommend getting surgery for gallbladder removal? I feel like I've seen some horror stories where people feel worse after removal is this common?! I am uncomfortable and in pain 99% of the time but I'm so anxious.

Removal is the only way to get rid of the gallstones so it’s always the recommended route. People who’ve had bad experiences will always shout the loudest and largely the complications you see online are not common. I personally know about 7 women who’ve had theirs out and not a single one has any issues!
I got diagnosed in September last year and whilst waiting for my referral to go through etc I completely changed my diet to low fat, eating the same ‘safe’ things but this last three weeks even those safe things are now giving me huge attacks and constant burning pain in my back.
I’m lucky enough to be able to go private and my surgery is tomorrow. I’m quite scared but also know that not being in some form of constant pain or scared to eat basically anything will be mean I feel so much better

I had no issues with the surgery or afterwards, it was was so worth it!
