Last night was night 1 of baby being in her own room. To help to transition I slept on a blowup mattress in there ("slept" LOL). We did the exact same bedtime routine as usual. She is used to the room - she's had daytime naps in there, has played in there, been dressed in there etc. And we ended up going back to my room and the Next to Me at 5am because I couldnt hack it anymore and needed sleep.
Usually, I'll rock her until she is drowsy, and then put her in the next to me with Euan the Sheep playing, and I'll gentle pat her/hold her hand until she's asleep. She usually wakes around 2-3 times during a 12 hour period (bedtime is 7 30pm, she always wakes around 7.30am), and i feed her and she goes straight back to sleep. I tried doing the exact same last night, she took a while to go down but eventually did and slept two hours. However, then she would not go back to sleep. She would fight whatever I did. When she did go back to sleep she was awake within 20-40 minutes.
Basically, can mamas tell me what im doing wrong? Is that normal for the first night? Will it get easier? I'm so so tired.

Ohh no this is why I keep putting off moving my baby into his pen room, really worried we’ll have the same!

I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong! My girl moved into her own room a few weeks ago and her night time routine changed too. It took a bit of trial and error trying a few different things and a couple of nights with little sleep but we managed. She dropped her last cat nap and we do a long bath to tire her out right before bed. To begin with she would only sleep in there if she was really tired but she’s used to it now.
I’d give a few different things a go but if she’s still not sleeping maybe she’s just not ready yet! I don’t think there’s a right or wrong time/way to do it. If she’s still in with you that’s fine! Do whatever you can to get your sleep mama!

It is really horrible when neither of you get sleep, and I know it’s so much easier said than done but stay persistent, like with any change they forget about the “before” very quickly! What does your baby sleep on (material wise) in the next to me? Is it something that can be transferred into the cot? My daughter slept on a soft blanket in her next to me crib so I put that in her cot so it felt/smelt similar - not sure if this could help. Also, when either of mine got unsettled I would just stroke/pat them or my daughter likes to hold my finger just for reassurance that I’m there, rather than me picking her up. You’re not doing anything wrong, and it will 100% get better with perseverance.

You’re not doing anything wrong it just takes time to adjust and probably sooner than you think. It does get easier, I’m two weeks in now of my baby sleeping in her own room and she sleeps 6:30-6:30 with one wake up on average which is better than when she was in our room.
And it’s totally ok to bring her back into your room. I set out a little rule book when I started the transition and one of them is if she wakes up three times, on that third time I take her into our bed. It takes away any guilt and I’ve actually only had to do it once in the two weeks.
have you tried removing or reducing some of the sleep associations she has, the rocking, patting etc? It took 2-3 nights but when I did this my baby now goes down so easily and self settles in the night. It is daunting and honestly I thought my baby would never ever be able to fall asleep without it but she hugely surprised me
Whatever you choose to do stay consistent with it.

Keep going ! Consistency is key!

I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong! We have been trialing my daughter in hers this week, and the 1st night we was back in with us at 1:30 and then since then we’ve had 2 ok nights (3-4 wakes up normal for her) and 1 really rough night but stick with it consistency is key rn! Xx

Thank you so much everyone 🩷 I think i just needed some reassurance and need to remember it was always going to be hard at first😅🩷

We moved our baby’s cot into the corner of our bedroom for a few weeks so that she got used to not being next to me but was still in the room with us. It then made the transition to her own room a bit more gradual. She now happily sleeps in her room and knows that if she cries we will still come quickly to her.
When did you first drive with just your baby in the back? I've got the full safe setup installed but I am still nervous to drive anywhere alone yet. My baby is 5 weeks old on Friday and there's a bf support group I want to attend but it's too far to walk there :(
When my husband drives I am in the back with my son, holding his head when there are sharp turns and potholes because he is still a bit too small for the car seat to be holding his head in place (apparently this is normal and still fine but it worries me!)

I'm 10 weeks postpartum and went to the doctor yesterday for our Mother and Baby check. When it got to me, the doctor said "can you lift up your stomach so I can see the scar" 🤣😭
...loool the way a little bit of me died inside. It's barely even an overhang and my stomach has healed really well! There's no flap. I found it funny but also a bit of a gut punch because it's taken me all 10 weeks to adjust to my new body, appreciate it for all it's done, given me, and start to accept/like it again. Any new mums had similar scenarios or finding it a struggle to adapt to liking your new mum body post C section?

I know it’s typically advised that the first wake window of the day is the shortest and the last one before bedtime be the longest but it seems it’s the opposite for my LO?
Shes 4 months and no matter when I start trying to wind her down for her naps she always falls asleep at the 2 hour mark (almost always on the dot). Her last ww before bedtime is then 1.5 hours most of the time. But then she’s waking up every 2 hours so could she be overtired?
Is this normal? Is there anything I should be doing differently?

Baby girl is 4 weeks old now, partner has gone back to work and the fact that dad's only have 2 weeks is borderline cruelty. 2 days in and I hate that I have to choose between feeding myself, doing chores and hyping myself up to go get food. I have a fomo baby so we have to deal with 3h wake windows combined with the witching hour and overtireness screaming. I almost had a breakdown yesterday. I know it will get better but don't help cope now 🙃 it's one day at a time.

Hi everyone, I’m needing some help with pram/travel system recommendations. We won’t be able to get a new car before baby arrives and it’s quite small! We have a Mini Cooper, so boot space is limited at the best of times. I’m after a pram where the bassinet is foldable too to take up as little space as possible because we ALSO have a dog that will sometimes be out with us and baby.
I’ve been looking at the dragonfly, cove 2 and upline 3 but I just wondered if anyone else has any recommendations.
Thank you ☺️

Hit 6 weeks with my little boy, he’s really irritable crying if not feeding, has all of a sudden started to get reflux symptoms, will fall asleep during feeds of a day the second you move he wakes up, nothing is working. He cry’s during burping and I don’t get burps out of him🙃 is it normal? Night feeding is a lot sleeps in his bed and hour if that
