Any tips on how to encourage my 5 month old to sleep though the night

I don't think there is any, Ive tried everything and still the same

It's really hard, if they need to wake they will, I had a non sleeper and nothing worked but letting go and accepting it was so much better than trying to find and failing to find the mythical answer.
Sorry it's brutal at this age.
Advice you'll get from here will be by parents who have sleepers or babies who will accept sleeping rather than non sleepers.
Hope you get through it and sleep settled soon x
Just my experience :)

I think you'll find the majority of 5 months don't sleep through and that's totally normal. They mostly still need feeds through the night unfortunately. It's also too young to sleep train. There tends to be an improvement once they're getting established on solids

My 5 month old went through a sleep regression and I literally asked ChatGPT to create me nap schedules everyday depending what time he woke up. This massively helped but I also think he just grew out of it too! Definitely have a look at day time sleep and see if that helps x

I feed before taking mine to bed, take her upstairs and change her nappy then pop her straight down into her sleep bag. She'll wake up once during the night for another feed, depending on when the last feed was, maybe twice, then she's up between 7 and 8 for the day and another feed

My baby is 9 months, and still waking twice a night. My first was the same too. Some babies just sleep better than others. The other day my baby actually drank 11oz of milk before he went to bed at 7pm and still woke at 11pm and again at 3am, and then up for the day at 5:30. He usually has a 7oz bottle before bed, but clearly the amount he drinks before sleeping makes no difference as he's slept the same after only drinking 3oz. I'm not sure there's anything to be done

Do you have a white noise machine or a Ewan? We have the room dark and the white noise on, a bottle before putting her into her next to me and that works for us. I know every baby is different though. We also try to avoid naps after 5oclock x
I know all kids are different but at 5 month my first son was sleeping though the night now this is draining my sole , I just want a good night's sleep

My boy is 6.5 months and has just started sleeping through this week. We had regression for almost 2 months, then he went back to having one feed, then started to not settle despite the feed so just kept my routines and night responses consistent. Then this week it just happened. It will happen, but if he isn’t ready he just won’t, a lot of it is developmental and out of your control. If your routines are in place, then when it does happen, you’ll be set.
The late nap is also a good point! No naps past 5, and at the moment my boy is on 3 naps but the last is only around 15/20 mins. Total day sleep is no more than 2.5-3 hours. That way he’s tired at bedtime but has also had some good sleep in the day.
Good luck x
I’m 39 weeks and am wondering if we do have to stay the night if I should pack a swaddle or sleep sack for baby? If so what tog? I have a blanket packed but don’t plan on using those for sleep at home.

Our daughter turned 1 last week and for the last week (or so) she has been particularly "whiney". When we stop her doing something dangerous (obviously), she tantrums, throws herself back crying and kicking; she wants to climb all over me and is getting a little bitey which she thinks is a game when I say no, but if I move myself/her she whinges and tantrums again; she whinges to be up on my lap but then takes herself down and whinges because she's on the floor; she is screaming to go in the car seat and straightening her back. This is all new behaviour over the last 1-2 weeks. Is this normal for this age? Is it a phase? Is there anything we can do? As a ftm who has just gone back to work, im already feeling guilty and emotional and i cant help but worry that she's unhappy 😭

This is a super specific question for mamas with older kiddos. At what age did you let then have free reign in the house while you showered?
My son is 11.5 months but is fully mobile. I'm usually home alone when I shower. He gets frustrated with being kept in the bathroom with me but is also too squirmy for him to shower with me (plus I don't get in a good shower). On the flip side, I'm terrified that he'll hurt himself if I let him just wander around the house alone, even with baby gates and whatnot.
What do I doooo?

Its just me now, 1st night on my own and my 8 week old sleeps so terribly, shes always unsettled , every 40mins or so. Feeds every 3 hrs.
I cant lay in as have a 4 yr old.
I dont actually know how to cope? Im terrified. Me and my partner were doing shifts so I'd get 5 hrs undisturbed sleep. To now have to do on my own, please give me some help to get her sleeping better or how I can cope
She has reflux, wakes her up but absolutely nothing works for this, not gaviscon, not ompeprazole, tried everything.
Even when it's not reflux, she is unsettled. Although very happy in the day. Co sleeping doesnt help, she is exact same

I need to vent. I’m 3 weeks post partum and my son cries sometimes and can be difficult to settle. My mother in law has been very overbearing and whenever my son cries takes him off me to settle him. It’s now got to the point the point where I’m nervous for when my son cries cos I feel everyone looks at me to settle him and when I can’t I feel embarrassed and she comes along and takes him off me. At night when my son is crying, she’ll come into the room and do the same at 3am. I feel like all I’m good for at the moment is breastfeeding him but otherwise I’d be a shit mum. I feel like she’s getting in the way of me bonding with my son and learning my sons cries and habits. I feel really sad and useless :(

im begging at this point! Please someone recommend me some bottles for my son. Hes a month old snd for the past two weeks we’ve really been struggling with feeding. He gulps so much air and gets so upset throwing himself backwards and needing a burp within seconds. Some bottles he can be ok with but otherwise hes just so uncomfortable. We tried tommee tippee, mam and we now have mam with lansinoh teats, the teats worked for a few days but we’re back to screaming a lot. Its horrible to see him like this
