I know this is very controversial.
I would never have dreamed of putting my baby to sleep on his front. BUT twice now when trying to put him down and I’ve been rocking him and he gets heavy so I’ve laid him down on his front due to how I was holding him, he fell straight to sleep which isn’t normal for him.
I’ve never left him alone whilst he’s slept on his front but he seems in such a deep sleep and naps longer than when on his back/side.
Little guy is 5 months and rolls fairly well.

I havent done this with my daughter however she often sleeps on her side and I am pretty sure shed sleep really well on her stomach too. I just havent been brave enough to try incase I make a rod for my own back 😂 mine also rolls quite well too x

My baby has been a stomach sleeper since around a month old. His startle reflex started waking him up as well as his hands brushing off his face so neither of us would get any sleep at night. He never liked to be swaddled either. After a week I just decided to try different positions and he slept a full 5 hours (for the 1st time) on his stomach. I know it’s not the “norm” but at that time he could move his head from side to side easily and I’m a very light sleeper so I can hear his movements. I do try every now and again to place him on his back but unless I’m physically holding his hands he can’t get into a deep enough sleep so he ends up back on his stomach anyways. At this stage I’m not worried about it cause in a few months he’ll be rolling around and can sleep in whatever position he chooses ☺️
