Going incognito mostly because I am actually embarrassed 😂
I need to start being more active, I used to be so on the go but now I have zero motivation and no energy.
I have type 2 diabetes and I am trying to reverse it before it gets worse, my diet and exercise is horrendous as I just go for quick and easy, I do need to start really prepping food, I have tried calorie counting but end up getting stressed and just giving up and exercise wise I need someone to give me a push and hold me accountable in doing it but my partner is not the best with helping with things like this as he eats like a child and is physically active in work so when he gets home he doesn’t want to work out.
I need help, I was recently told my cholesterol and stuff are high and my diabetes has gone worse since having the baby and having a lot of meds stopped.

I don’t know if you want advice or just a rant 🤣 but I did couch to 5k when I was on mat leave last time and plan on doing the same again this time round! I know it’s not for everyone but it helped me lose weight, gave me the occasional break and actually helped with my mental wellbeing! Might be worth trying something like this that’s not an all or nothing 💖

Have you asked the GP as when I was pre diabetic last year (not anymore) they signed me up to an app they provide call second nature which has a coach, other people you speak with, recipes etc and that was really helpful.
To be honest initially I'd focus on the food cos the exercise is a minimal part. Better food will give more energy and in turn motivation.

I would start with step count, set a reasonable target then when you reliably hit that increase the target. It makes a huge difference. It's encouraged me to get my toddler out on more walks and she loves them! I don't go OTT but on my exercise free days I make sure I hit at least 5000 steps. I do yoga at home, my toddler joins in. We recently got some weights that we do as a couple, we do workout videos together. I've joined an aerial yoga class which I love and go swimming once or twice a week. All this to say, the biggest factor is a calorie deficit. We got side plates to help with portion control, I plan all our meals on a spreadsheet and order the food to the house to avoid impulse buys, lots of veg, lots of fruit, lots of protein. I've lost nearly 30kg now.
