Hi moms!
I hope you're having a good weekend.
So, I have 4yo boy who is obsessed with Lightning Mcqueen and trains(especially railroad crossing which I think is funny and weird obsession).
He goes to the speech therapy, but his teacher from his preK says he has no issues there. He listens, he plays with friends, but not really interested in academics such as drawing and writing letters practice haha
Um, to me, he's typical 4yo boy, but my husband wonders if he has autism or maybe in gray zone.
My son loves pretending being a race car and always runs down to the straight sidewalk beside the parking lot at school, which I have never seen any kids doing that.
He responds my questions and we can talk about stuff, but, I'm not sure if he can have decent conversations with kids.
Does this sound like normal 4yo kid? What do you think?

Sounds very normal to me. He just knows what he likes and he’s very imaginative. :)

Sounds completely normal

As an autistic adult to 3 autistic children, this behavior sounds completely normal! Now, if he was lining his favorite toys up all day everyday and not playing with them how they’re supposed to be played with, that would be totally different. But this sounds totally normal!
