This is normal for a really tiny baby. The fourth trimester. She’s used to being in your tummy, it’s all she had known. And of course she’s used to that comfort, your heartbeat, being warm and feeling safe- a cot is cold, empty, she’s alone in it, many babies aren’t going to like that transition!
You can try things to help with cot sleeping- warming the mattress before she goes in, making the sheets smell like you, swaddling, trying different put down techniques etc. or you could look into cosleeping if it’s something you’re open to.
But know that you can’t hold a newborn too much, you aren’t creating bad habits by holding her, it’s just how the vast majority of newborns are!

Co sleep if you're comfortable doing that, and try the sleep training once your LO is no longer waking in the night for feeds.

This didn't work for my son, he always needed to feel me next to him, but I hear it worked for others.

White noise was something that was also suggested, it didn't work for my child, but may help yours to settle.

Am I killing my supply?

So my almost 2 month old has started sleeping for 5.5 hours before waking for his first feed of the night. I usually get him to bed around 10 or 11 right after pumping from both sides and bottle feeding. When he wakes up in the night, either 3:30am or 4:30am, he only eats from one boob then he's back to sleep for another 3 hours. I'll still be engorged in both when he wakes btw. So that means that only one of my boobs is getting emptied throughout the whole night. Basically my question is will this kill my supply?? In one boob or both? What about when he starts sleeping through the night do I need to wake myself up to pump once a night to keep my supply? I still feed/pump every 2 hours or so during the day. But I just don't want to kill my supply because I'm doing the night-time feeds wrong.

Vaccination schedule + newborn visits

When did you feel it was actually safe to have visitors or host a small gathering?

My due date is in about a month, and I tried to schedule a first visit with a pediatrician for after my baby boy arrives - but they said it’s too early to book an appointment.

My husband and I are also planning a small naming ceremony with close friends and family about 2 weeks after birth.

I’d love to hear from other moms on this.

What does the vaccination schedule look like for newborns in those first few weeks/months? Would really appreciate any experiences or advice 🤍

Help I need milk

I am 5 weeks pp and struggling even producing an oz. I have two other children 10 and 8 that breast fed for yrs and it was never a problem. I have not had an appetite since I gave birth so eating might be an issue. But I’m also very stressed with my relationship. Any tips I appreciate.

How many people cosleep?

I cosleep (bedshare) with my 7 month but not by choice anymore haha (I’m over it). I feel so alone in my cosleeping. How many people here cosleep? My baby boy won’t even sleep in the next to me crib, absolutely cannot stand it and I don’t know what to do. Weve tried sleep training him in the crib but it did not work at all and made him more afraid. I’m hoping to move him to his cot before I start work in a couple months! Is that an impossible task??

Sweaty feet help

My daughter has really sweaty feet, especially on hot days, her socks end up completely wet 😩 I’ve also noticed her nails starting to discolour a bit, which is worrying me.

I got her breathable shoes and cotton socks, but I’ve recently read that cotton isn’t actually the best for this kind of issue. My sister has the same problem (so I guess it might be hereditary), and she recommended bamboo socks as they’re better for sweat.

The problem is I can’t seem to find bamboo socks in her size (UK toddler 4–5).

Has anyone had the same issue and can recommend where to buy them?

Thank you 🙏
