Could just be the start of some Braxton hicks contractions but it could be at any point. My baby has been in position or a solid 2 months and I’m just now going to go in for induction and I’m 3 days away from 40 week. Also been in and out of labor for days now

I felt my baby first start to drop a couple weeks ago around 37 weeks. I’m now 39+4. I’ve heard for your first baby, baby can start to drop 2 - 4 weeks before you go into labor. So yes, baby dropping means you’re getting close, but it could still be a little while. Hope that helps!

Issues with community midwife’s

Hello
I’m 36+2 and I’m officially over the midwife care I have received, I’ve been dismissed multiple times on different subjects by multiple midwife’s in my community midwife team , I’ve not seen one consistently it’s been a group of 4 of them , I get told “ we will talk about that at the next appointment “ only to have somone else and it not be discussed & for my last 2 appointments I’ve been sent to maternity assessment .
I also asked not to see one of the midwives again and I was told it’s not possible and can’t garuntee it .

It’s causing me more stress now than anything is anyone else in the same boat ? Can I refuse maternity care going forward ?
I’m happy to go to maternity assessment if needed but I can’t with the community midwives anymore .

Disappointed in a scan?

Hey guys, so I thought I was 6 weeks pregnant yesterday so I had booked myself in for a pregnancy confirmation scan. I had the expectation to see a yolk sac and possibly a faint heartbeat however when the midwife first looked it was an empty sac no yolk in sight. She did manage to find tiny thing she said she thinks is the yolk sac and marked me down as 5 weeks but would like to see me two days again to see if the yolk sac has developed. It has sent me into a slight spiral that there’s nothing there. It’s my first pregnancy and I am overthinking everything! I was a bit disappointed to not be as far as I thought I was. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Was everything ok in the end? I’ve attached the scan image.

Postponed Induction / busy labour ward

Hello - looking for some advice please. I was booked in for an induction earlier this week and have been advised the labour ward is so busy that it’s actually closed for new admissions right now until further notice. Has anyone experienced this as well?

I’ve been told it can change quickly but my anxiety is increasing given I was being induced for medical reasons but equally understand pressures on the system right now so feel I can’t challenge it.

Any advice welcome.

Any advice?

Hi I’m 7 weeks pp after an emergency category 1 section under general anaesthetic, because of this I feel I missed the crucial first few hours of my little man’s life and feel robbed of the first cuddle and here is your baby moment, as I wasn’t back conscious until he was 2 hours old. , has anyone else experienced this? Everyone keeps telling me they’ve never heard of a section done under GA and I feel alone in it with no one to talk to.

Would you go?

My sister has her hen do abroad, 6 weeks after my baby is due. I’m so torn as I know with my first I struggled leaving her for a minute when she was that small. I obviously don’t want to miss my sisters hen do as I’m maid of honour & so excited for her!
My fiance has said he is happy for me to go and he will look after our toddler and the newborn. (I’d have to pump and leave milk) although we might try to combi feed like we did for our first.
Would love to be there for both occasions. Is it so bad just for 3 nights?

38 week Static Growth - Scan

I had my 38 week midwife appointment this afternoon at 38+4 and she said baby was engaged, their head deep in my pelvis (I was told baby had engaged at 36+4 also).

When measuring the bump it was measuring 38cm at 36+4 but today has stayed static and measured 38.2cm, going from 95th percentile to 60th I think she said. Midwife didn’t seem overly concerned and believed other symptoms suggested my body was getting ready for early labour and this may just be due to him moving down.

I’ve been referred for a scan at 5pm today, has anybody else had something similar? Did it result in a change to your birth plan at this stage?
